Loved the food which was incuded in the price. Twin room with a lake view was spectacular. Hotel overlooking lake Kawaguchico up a steep narrow incline. Parking was free and plentiful once the driveway was located. Beautiful scenic hotel with great ameneties, a bit expensive but worth it. No elevators so steep walk up from the road or a shuttle bus was available. Short walk down to the lake and great views of Mt Fuji can be had while walking around the lake. Staff were great and spoke some English. Onsen was also very good. Overall a great experience and would definitely stay again.

“positive experience overall”
If you arrive by bus from Tokyo to Fujikawaguchiko Station, the hotel can pick you up with a shuttle service — you just need to call the reception. The hotel is located on a hill, so be prepared for some uphill walking if you go out, for example to a store. The room was very spacious, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The hotel offers both breakfast and dinner with a good variety of food. There is a smoking room on every floor. The hotel also has both private and public onsens. I have a half-sleeve tattoo, and they told me it was okay to use the public onsen as well.

“Absolutely loved our stay here. We will lock this in for 2 nights for every cycling tour we bring through this region fr”
Wow! Loved everything! Don’t tell people how good this place is otherwise we won’t be able to get a booking! With only 25 rooms it’s a perfect place for groups. A great place to stay before climbing the Subaru Line up Mt Fuji.

“Romantic and High-end”
This hotel is outstanding in every aspect! The rooms are huge, clean and well maintained. I cannot fault Rakuyu is any way at all. The staff were extremely kind and welcoming. During check-in we received a full breakdown of the facilities as well as the shuttle bus, which we used to go to Kawaguchiko Station once we checked out. The views from the rooms are so beautiful, my fiancé proposed to me during sunset from our room, it was gorgeous. We plan to return to Rakuyu on our next trip to Lake Kawaguchiko. I would highly highly recommend this hotel.

“Excellent we would definitely recommend and we had a trip round the lake on a speed boat and saw the most spectacular vi”
Excellent views the staff were very friendly too. We were disappointed when the cafe’s were closing at 5pm at the lake. So headed back to the hotel, but went in for the cocktails and light meal that were complimentary and the food was fantastic, we were very impressed. Excellent service.

“This place was tranquil?”
We had a fantastic stay and were made to feel relaxed in luxury from the moment we were picked up at the station. The lobby had gorgeous views on arrival. Our room was beautiful and spacious. The private onsen was a fantastic experience although the public onsen was also great and did not charge extra. The food provided in the club lounge was tasty, varied and substantial - we didn't need to go out for dinner afterwards! We were able to go for a sunrise 5k around lake Kawaguchiko which topped the whole visit off.

“A truly wonderful stay!”
The room was exceptional with a stunning view of the lake. Breakfast was fantastic and the cocktail hour with “light meals” were also brilliant and definitely enough to fill you up. Staff were all professional and friendly. We will be back. A 5 star stay!
