A place which feels like home. The owners are incredibly kind and hospitable. There was a warm bath waiting for us, looking out at a wonderful little garden. Spotless clean and super well equipped and what we will cherish most is the dinner experience

“A magical oasis with a magical view of Mt Fuji.”

What a magical oasis. Such a calm and tranquil place to stay. We were a family of 4 adults and 2 children and the bedding configuration worked well for us. The onsen, cold plunge bath and spa were a perfect addition after our hectic 4 day Tokyo trip beforehand. The whole place is beautiful. Kim and her husband are wonderful people. Mt Fuji is the backdrop from the outdoor seating area. The Freshwater Restaurant is 3 steps away and the meal was delicious (true traditional Japanese cuisine).

This was the most outstanding property l have experienced in my travels. Even before we arrived our host Kim could not have made us feel more comfortable. Her correspondence was impeccable and Kim went out of her way to help navigate Fuji and with our lack of being able to speak Japanese to get our luggage shipped to Osaka for the next leg of our trip . Herself and husband own the restaurant next door and do an amazing traditional Japanese cuisine which is outstanding. The view of Fuji from the villa is stunning. Our family of 5 with 3 older teenagers loved this place so do yourself a favour and enjoy this Japanese experience.

“Delightful host and gorgeous, comfortable accomodation”

Kim, the host, was so welcoming and lovely. The house is gorgeously designed and cosy, with an enormous bathroom (showers, private hot bath, sauna and cold plunge). We would love to stay here again, this time for longer than one night.

“Fantastic house with welcoming and gracious hosts”

Villa Ietona is a truly special place. It is beautiful in all its details, from the way it has been constructed in wood, to the ceramics and glassware in the cupboards. The private “onsen” is the best thing about it… a deep, hot bath which looks out on to a Japanese garden; a sauna; and a cold dipping bath. Everything about it is immaculate. You can also step straight outside to cool off and relax on the veranda, which overlooks some pretty woodland. Kim and her husband were so welcoming and kind; we had - delicious supper in their restaurant next door, which was a multi-course menu served delightfully. We stayed two nights, and the day in between was so wet that Fuji and the surrounding hills were nowhere to be seen. Thanks to Villa Ietona we still managed to have a fantastic time, and then the morning we left, early, it was sunny… and there was Fuji-San in all its glory. What a moment!

The property is quiet with lovely facilities, from the underfloor heating to the sauna and large spa. Not to mention Kim is an amazing host with a lovely restaurant just next door.

An exceptional house with an even better host! The amenities are excellent and the dinner at the restaurant next door was simply delicious. The beds were very comfortable and the onsen and sauna were also great. Would definitely recommend.

“Highly recommendable house for up to six people”

The facilities include sauna, cold and warm water bath, a terrace and garden with a BBQ site. Kitchen, laundry and dryer are available. All very well maintained. The hosts run an excellent Japanese restaurant next door. The place is quiet and very clean. Highly recommendable. The hosts are very attentive, friendly and helpful
