Meals were incredible, with tons of thoughtful and expertly made dishes. Yoshi and his wife made every aspect of our stay comfortable and memorable. The private onsen is a treat, and the views and solitude at the property are incredible.

The owner is really nice & helpful. The place and its surroundings are wonderful. We hope to come back again.

Lovely owners can speak and understand English very well if needed and our room had on the table many maps in English and information on this area and what to do around Mount Fuji! Our cat was allowed with us in the room, not on the beds, but that is very understandable. The bath tub in the room was huge and the water is mineral directly from Mount Fuji. The bath chair and items were very elegant with a Rose themed design, the bath cosmetics that they provide (shampoo, bath gel and hair conditioner as well as make-up remover, milk and lotion) are all of very high quality and smell wonderfully. there is good free WiFi, a tv, fridge and water boiler and they provide coffee to make it in your room, there is a nice restaurant on the premise but sadly we didn't have the time to try it out. Mount Fuji is directly visible from the hotel entrance and from your porch if you stand up, you can see it's head! There is a cute table and chairs where you can sit outside your door however for privacy the gate is high enough that other guests can't look at you. however their pets can hear you and bark at you. Our kitty wasn't too freaked out though. Kawaguchiko lake is just in front of the hotel and you can stroll down to the water and play, although it is not a proper beach, we sat down with our sandwiches there, bring a picnic sheet. The area is actually quite secluded and private. there are 2 more hotels and that's all, it is situated in between two tunnel entrances in the hills on the border of the lake so it is a very private area of Kawaguchiko and Fuji. Truly wonderful to have a lodging to safely take your pet to and stay together, and to see lake with Mount Fuji right outside the hotel. Can't wait to meet again the wonderful owners and to finally try their delicious dishes!

Amazing stay. Host was really friendly and the dinner was absolutely delicious. Pity we only stayed for a single night. Would definitely return in the future!

Everything!!! Our host Yoshi took great care of us from start till end. He is truly a masterchef in his own way, serving us a wonderful dinner and breakfast that cannot be found anywhere else. His hamburg is seriously the juiciest one we have ever eaten. I only wish I stayed 2 nights so that I can savor his food all over again! The property itself offers such an amazing view throughout our stay (granted we were really lucky that weather was sunny and clear!), and the facilities are clean and well maintained. The hidden beach just across the road with Mt Fuji is another gem that only this hotel has. This stay didn’t just feel like another night of our vacation, it felt like a priceless night and morning of conversations over food with a newfound friend. Thank you Yoshi and wife for all your kindness and hospitality, we will definitely be back when we come back to Fuji 🤗

We had an exceptional stay at Yoshi's hotel. He and his wife were incredibly warm hosts, ensuring our comfort throughout. The rooms offered breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji in a picturesque location, and the private onsen with natural spring water added a luxurious touch. The food was beyond fantastic, and Yoshi even went the extra mile to buy special Christmas cakes for us, making it a truly memorable experience. Engaging in long conversations with Yoshi provided valuable insights into Japanese culture. We miss this place dearly and look forward to visiting again.

“unforgettable stay for my family with host’s supreme hospitality”

This hotel is operated entirely by a couple. The hotel’s host, Yoshi san, and his wife, Aya san, treated my family with the utmost level of hospitality and gave us a unforgettable memory. Since we do not have a car, Yoshi san kindly offered pickup at the last stop of red line bus, which saved us a lot of hassle in calling taxi! but note that pickup is available only if Yoshi san is free. Yoshi san introduced our family room to us in a detailed manner. The room is delicately decorated with a European cozy style. And we enjoyed a lot the Onsen in the bathroom. One of the highlights is undoubtedly the food! Yoshi san, as the host and chef at the same time, served us with a 6-course premium dinner. The food was exceptionally tasty and well-decorated. Out of all the food I tried in Europe, Asia, and the US, Yoshi san’s dishes were certainly top notch. Of course, the breakfast was equally amazing. The hotel’s location is amazing. At night, you may be able to see starry sky with Mt Fuji. In the daytime, It is just a few minutes away from the lakeside where you can take photos of “Inverse Mt Fuji”. Even though the lower mountain is blocked by a hill, the spot is still supreme and free of interference from other tourist. Yoshi san is fluent in English and we had exchanges our experience in traveling around the world. Since he had a day-off on the day of our checkout, he even kindly gave us a ride to the famous photo spot of Mt Fuji out of courtesy. He certainly didn’t have to do it but his hospitality was greatly appreciated!!

The owners were incredible and very welcoming, I had great chats with Yoshi throughout my stay and he was gracious enough to give me a ride to the main bus station on my check out day which was a great help! The private hot spring in the bathroom was amazing and the dinner and breakfast were both delicious, the food was incredible! The view of Mt. Fuji from the hotel is also fantastic!

“Friendly Fabulous and absolutely Awesome”

This property is a real gem. Located in a quiet location away from the busy tourist hub. We had a car so it was perfect for us but you might need to explore your options if using public transport. The owner Yoshi and his wife Aya are amazing. Yoshi is a real foodie and so also doubles as the chef with a focus on a fusion between Japanese and Western meals. The food was awesome and delicious. Yoshi also gave us some very helpful suggestions during our stay which were all great and enabled us to have the best possible time. We only stayed a couple of nights but when we left we felt like family. I can highly recommend this delightful and charming private hotel and I would love to return one day. I would count our stay here as one of the highlights of our holiday in Japan.

Clean & warming stay, we’re enjoyed with the super friendly host and the great food prepared by the host as well. In short, it is a worth stay!

One of the greatest memories of mine and my 2 teenager kids' in Japan was to stay at this adorable hotel. Although the cloudy weather blocked the view of Fujisan, The lovely hotel owners, Yoshi San and his wife Aya San who have been traveling around the world and speak fluent English, made up for the loss with their warmest hospitality and amazing food. Due to the raining season, we were the only guests and therefore had the most privilege during stay. Yoshi San even drove us to some attractions and back to the Kawaguchi-Ko Station after checking out. The dinner and breakfast were so delicious that I recommend whoever stays here to take them. The hotel is located at a remote corner by the Lake Kawaguchi. It takes 30 mins walk from the nearest bus stop. So just take taxi from Kawaguchi-ko Station ( costs about 3600-3900 yen) if driving is not in the plan. It is worth everything.

The place is quiet and offers a very good view for Mount Fuji. Meals prepared by Chef cum Owner was excellent! Private hot bath from Fuji spring water was awesome!

pros: 1/ Location. room & bathroom is facing lake and we can see Mt.Fuji from the room and bathroom if it is not blocked by clouds. it is in a quiet and quaint area. very relaxing and away from the crowded tourist area. 2/ it has everything guests need including sufficient heater in bedroom and bathroom. 3/ room and bathroom are very spacious compared to normal Japanese hotels. 4/ it has private onsen in the bathroom which is continuously heated and water flowing from Mt Fuji. owners added mineral that is good for skin. 5/ Breakfast is excellent with lots of varieties. tasty bread supplier by local bakery and juice supplied by local farmers. in fact, breakfast is too much until we could not have lunch on time as we are too full with breakfast. Besides, breakfast is delicious, too. 6/ as it is family owned, service provided is personalized even for meals. 7/ owners very friendly and helpful. even gave us carefully wrapped cookies for us before we leave for a long journey. 8/ free parking and just next to the room. 9/ wifi is good. 10/ place is rustic with old furnishings but super clean as owners sanitize even the floor. 10/ it is non smoking for the whole house cum hotel. 11/ pet friendly. 12/ owner speaks good English.

I liked the private onsen and the privacy that the room gives you. The breakefast was alsso one if not the best i ever had ecpecially with a beatifull view of mount fuji. The owner even spoke english. And explante everything beautifully. If i come back to kawaguchiko i will come back to this riokan.

Yoshi-san and his wife are the owners of the hotels. They are super friendly and helpful. Yoshi can speak fluent English. It was terrible weather on the 1st day in Fujikawaguchiko. Clouds and fog covered Mt. Muji. Fortunately, the hosts prepared a wonderful western mix with a Japanese-style dinner. It's lovely, and the portion is enormous! The room is cosy and extensive, with an onsen in the bathroom. The parking slot is wide that could fit in a Japanese MPV. Yoshi knew we wanted to take a decent picture of Fuji. The next day morning, the sky is clear and no wind. Yoshi called us to take a picture, and we really appreciate that! And basically, 15mins after we took the picture, the lake started to have waves, and clouds started to form. It passed away in a twinkle of the eye, but we had a great memory. Highly recommend it to the self-driving guest who will go to Fujikawaguchiko!
