Absolutely fantastic hostel, incredible location and rooftop view of fuji. The staff were amazing and the mixed dorm was incredibly clean and comfortable. The free bike rental was so kind of them. Absolutely magical property i think they should charge more haha!

I had a very enjoyable stay at Fuji Guest House Ao for two nights in Fujikawaguchiko. The biggest highlight was the spectacular view of Mount Fuji from the terrace — it was absolutely stunning and made the stay feel very special. The terrace area was a great place to relax and take in the scenery, especially in the morning and evening. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, and they made us feel comfortable from check-in onwards. The guest house had a relaxed atmosphere, and the location was convenient for exploring the area around Lake Kawaguchi. I also really appreciated the free bicycles available for guests to use. Being able to cycle around the lake and nearby areas added a lot to the overall experience and was a great way to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The facilities were simple but practical, and overall the property was clean and comfortable. As with many guest houses, the rooms and shared spaces are fairly basic, but everything we needed was provided and it offered good value for money considering the location and incredible Fuji views. Overall, I would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly and affordable stay with an unforgettable Mount Fuji view.

“Perfect hostel”

The staff were so lovely and welcoming. The hostel was very clean and tidy. Free bike hire aswell. The location was great aswell. Away from the crowds but walking distance to everywhere. The view from my room, waking up to see Mt Fuji was priceless

We stayed in the superior twin room and it was spacious, clean, comfortable and had a fantastic view of Mt. Fuji! The owners were lovely and made you feel very welcome. The free snacks was also a lovely touch, which we enjoyed on our bike ride around the lake just 10 minutes from the guest house. The bikes were also free!

Everything is good ! Especially the Mount Fuji view on the top love it!

The staff was very helpful. The place was clean and spacious. They even provide free bikes for you to go around. I would definitely stay here again when visiting kawaguchiko the next time .

The bed and pillow was sooo comfy and a perfect dark little cave for sleeping. The actual hostel was very clean and perfect location. The rooftop was great also and free bikes is very good value.

Love everything about this place! There’s really nothing to dislike. I’ll definitely choose to stay here again for my next trip to Fuji. The location is super convenient, the owner’s hospitality is warm, and the space is clean! There’s a nice view of Fuji from the rooftop, plus free bike rentals and snacks provided 😍 P/S: For those staying in the dormitory, please be considerate of others 🙃

“Great place to stay to see Mount Fuji and explore lake kawaguchiko.”

The location and the view of Fuji was amazing. We had a room with a view of Mount Fuji and it was unreal to wake up and see it from the window. Free tea, coffee, snacks and drinking water was a great touch. The ability to wake up and go to the roof top for sunrise then go back to bed after is perfect.

“Despite the rainy weather, enjoyed my stay”

The rooftop, which was the main draw and luckily was able to use it on the two days Fuji was visible! Bed area was also good size, had space for most of my stuff and bed was cosy. Was put in the corner which was great and appreciated that owner understood my concerns about it staying in a mixed dormitory for the first time so made sure I was always next to another female so really appreciate her efforts. Also appreciated the snacks left out for the guests and eventually I got to ride one of the bikes which was great.

Beds were very comfortable and space was clean. Common area seating with free coffee, tea, and snacks. Free rental bicycles. Nice ramen shop right next door. View of Mt Fuji from the rooftop!
