“Felt very authentic!”

This was a nice traditional style home, and we thought it was really neat. The area is very quiet and safe with access to some hiking near by. It is a 15 minute walk to the shore with really nice views of Mount Fuji. Was reachable by bus, so getting around was no problem.

“A quirky stay!”

What a gorgeous stay! Our bus was delayed so we didn’t get into town until after 11pm. There were no busses or taxis running at all and we would have struggled if a nice Japanese couple hadn’t helped us to source a taxi to get to the property. The space is just lovely. We had three nights and spent a day just relaxing at home, it’s such a unique environment and space. The futons are super comfee and the linen feels luxurious, most comfortable we’ve had yet on our trip. The location is about a 20 minute walk from the lake, one straight road and easy to navigate with a Lawsons and 7-11 on the way. 5 minutes from a beautiful shrine and excellent coffee place. A handful of nice restaurants and shops are a short walk away. The place is quirky and spacious - think romantic shack rather than splendid Shogun! If you’re a light sleeper you might want to bring eye masks, walls are all glazed and rooms are all light at dawn. If you want to sleep in, ear plugs might be an idea - passing cars on the road outside can be noisy and there is a carpenters workshop directly next door.

If you want to experience Japanese living this is great place for it! We were happy to have western table too! We will suffer oder wise. There is bus stop just outside of property.

11 out of 10. Excellent spacious, clean and well maintained classic Japanese ryokan for family-size stays. Impeccable facilities, all necessities and wifi - check! Flexible, understanding and friendly owner (thank you!). Atmospheric and memorable place with pleasant light, equipped kitchen, convinient bus stop 15 sec walk from the house and spacious parking space - definitely a place to stay in Kawaguchi for the best Mt Fuji experience.

“Excellent stay at a traditional Japanese house! Don't miss it!”

The host was great in communicating about the check-in process and other questions I had about driving in the area. Everything in the house was as advertised. Bathroom was modern and clean. Every other area of the house gave a great feeling of staying in a traditional Japanese house. I had a car and the dedicated parking space right next to door made it easy to transfer the plenty of luggage I had. The area is peaceful and yet close to Kawaguchiko town. 2 night stay felt very short and I would love to come back!

How convenient it was, very affordable, comfortable and very WELL equipped. Big clean space great for family stay and warm too.

“Beautiful traditional house”

We wanted to experience staying on a traditional ryokan near Mount Fuji a this was the best choice. Very spacious house with attention to detail. The interior was gorgeous and we had a great time there. Definitely recommend staying!

I like that its a very authentic japanese interior with kotatsu ready for winter ❄️ it feels very comfortable and chill living in this type of environment. The facilities and toiletries are also quite complete, new and well-managed. Very clean and spacious.
