There were lots of little extra touches to make us feel welcome and comfortable: the house was warm when we arrived as the heaters had been turned on earlier. Good quality tea and coffee was put out for us as well as biscuits and chocolates. At the cooking area there was salt, soy sauce, and oil so there was not a need for us to go to the shops to purchase these basics. There was a washing with washing liquid provided. The view of Mt Fuji from every window was wonderful.

The style was very classic made our trip to Fuji-san a lot more memorable. In the mourning we got to see mont Fuji from the bedroom balcony.

We enjoyed the place very much. Quiet place. Traditional Japanese house, clean, with a powerful air purifier, just like a home. Clean sheets, toilets & rooms. 3 bedrooms upstairs with 2 rooms with single beds & a room for tatami bed. A tatami bedroom downstairs. Separate toilet from bath. Washing machine in the bath area. Fully air-conditioned place. Full kitchen with hot flask too. Would return if I come here again. Strongly recommended.

It is a lovely, cozy and homey local home well equipped with all necessary appliances to make it fully functioning even for a comfortable long stay. It can potentially accommodate a big family and you get to have a view of Mt Fuji from one of the rooms upstairs.

“Comfortable semi traditional Japanese home”

We had a very comfortable 2 night stay. The facilities were great for our party of 3 adults. We shared a toilet and bathroom with no problem. It is really nice to be able to eat in one evening.

Everything was perfect. Clean and well maintained. Housekeeping lady was exceptionally nice and welcoming and gave good advice for sightseeing in the area. The accommodation was located in a less touristy area, thus quiet and not crowded.

One night is not enough, the house is so so so good. I wish I could stay for more days. You can see the Mount Fuji through the living room’s door and balcony. Perfect view of Mount Fuji.

“Truely Special”

Asama is quiet, authentic and serene with some great sites like the music gardens, Asama Shrine and hike up to Shirataki Waterfall. There are good spots to eat but they do close earlish.There is a Lawsons and 7 11 close by if you get stuck though. On arrival I was kindly welcomed by the host and personally directed to parking and the house. The classic house is immaculate and has plenty of space. Every corner of the house inside and out has been treated with love and care. The styling and gardens are wonderful, warm and cosy. The traditional tatami flooring and shoes off ritual pairs well with the iconic setting. The amenities are all in great condition and make for a cosy stay. I was blessed to have crystal visibility while around Fuji which I could enjoy from downstairs and upstairs at Classic Living. My favourite moments were having the very nice provided coffee in the morning in the dining room and a night cap in the upstairs bedroom with excellent views of the epic Fuji. This place felt like coming home to a relative or friend's place except that you are also in the presence of an iconic wonder of nature. I will remember my stay at Classic Living with great fondness, it made my stay at Fuji perfect and it truely is a special place.

Just love the house and every detail in it. The traditional vibe with modernized equipment balanced perfectly, just like you see in many Japanese comics and drama. The property is a little away from downtown area but really close to one of the famous shrine and away from the crowd. Super quiet at night and waking up with the Mt Fuji right in front of your nose. Awesome place to stay!!

“A great house in a very good location”

A very good location, being about a kilometer from the lake, on a bus route (we didn't have a car) and with several restaurants not far away. There was a view of Mount Fuji from the house, particularly from one of the upstairs windows! The house itself was nicely decorated and the bedrooms comfortable. The host was very responsive and helpful in dealing with our questions and requests.
