Second time we visited for a stopover on our way to Portugal. The host is superfriendly and the establishment is very clean and well kept. The dog got to borrow bed and bowl. Our bed real comfy even though It's 140cm. Easy to find and really good, big, grocery store nearby. Totally recommend Señora Marisols place.

“Charming rustic stay - I'd come again!”

Lovely friendly welcome. Charming little house, charming interior and very comfortable. The bed linen was very pretty and crisp, good quality. Interesting furnishings - very homely. Beautifully tended garden. Nice BBQ area - great for families and dogs! Safely fenced garden and good parking right outside. Plus: don't miss the Talho (butcher) - large barn type building - just as you turn left on the road towards Casa Rural - excellent meat & great little grocery!

“A place to remember and to come back again.”

Breakfast was excellent and we were able to enjoy it in a really nice family like atmosphere with some other guests. Marisol was very helpful and this is one of places where you can feel like being at home in a good way. Nice bathroom and surrounding areas were perfectly calm.

Architect and location

Comfy beds and lots of space. Nice area to walk the dog.

Good rooms and good staff

The place is nice but the impression was ruined by the fact that hosts have a dog that they keep on a 1 meter long chain tied to the gates. Something like that is very sad to see in 21. century and I can't think of a reason why would people who in the same time accept guests with dogs keep their own on the chain (and for everyone to see). I'm sorry, but as a pet parent I don't advise people to support this behavior!

“Very quiet!, non-expensive, walkable from Vilar Formoso railway and bus stops.”

* Very quiet! (If the constructions of the railway line on the portuguese side are finished, and if due to that there are more freight trains, it could get louder because it is nearby the railway line. I had only one cargo train in the morning during my one night stay.) * Walkable (ca. 1.2 km) from train station and long distance bus station of Vilar Formoso (connections into Portugal and into España). * A well equipped kitchen and dining room with TV available for all guests. * Friendly people who live there on the land have made part of their house a guesthouse. * Bathroom with bathtub. * I think it is a) cheaper, b) quieter, c) more comfortable than the "Hotel Lusitano" in Vilar Formoso. * Area has a wide view over the mountains. * Curious, friendly dog.
