Overview
Hotel Teuchelwald in Freudenstadt has a sun terrace offering panoramic views of the Black Forest. Classic-style rooms are provided in the Hotel Teuchelwald’s 100-year-old Art Nouveau building or in the newly constructed extension. All rooms include a TV, desk and a private bathroom. Wheelchair-accessible rooms are featured and some units are suitable for allergy sufferers. A breakfast buffet is provided each morning, and a selection of Black Forest and international dishes are served in the elegant restaurant. Guests enjoy free access to the hotel's spa area with an indoor swimming pool, a sauna and a steam bath, a 3-minute walk from the hotel. Massages can be booked upon request, subject to availability. A 10-minute walk takes guests to the market square in the heart of Freudenstadt. Many hiking and cycling trails can also be explored in the surrounding Northern Black Forest Nature Park. On-site parking is free at Hotel Teuchelwald. It is a 1-hour drive from Stuttgart, Tübingen and Strasbourg.

“Great hosts”
Very lovely hosts who made us feel at home. I really liked the menu as it listed all the major allergens. I was able to find a choice of options, even with a restricted diet. The room suited our needs and had a lovely large balcony.

“Overpriced and overrated without a pool within the Hotel (3min walk, and it’s cold)”
The room and bathroom was old and in desperate need for a refurbishment. No air conditioning or ventilation(the one in bath wasn’t working at all). Limited options at the breakfast which is quite expensive in addition.

“Would not recommend.”
Worn carpets, creaking floors and just old and tired. Even as a guest, was told I couldn’t eat in the restaurant as “they only have a limited capacity” even though at least 50% of tables were free. Very rude restaurant “manager”

“Lovely accomdoation in a relaxing setting but let by the buffet meal & poor service.”
The location was great & peaceful, surrounded by green space with a great view. The room was stylish & comfortable, the bathroom well-lit & spacious. We would have enjoyed the small terrace had the weather been better. The checkin staff were friendly. Covered parking area was great but small. There were comfortable areas with seating & a large terrace when the weather was nice (sadly not in our case). Gluten free bread was available.
