I really liked this place. It was very peaceful and perfect for resting. Great view across the town and to the hills. On Booking I had read it was a 9.30 checkout which nearly put me off but it was later. 11am at weekends and bank holidays. I did not find it far from the town. It was an easy less than 10 minute walk. I walked to the other side of the town at night and then caught an Uber back for 8 euros:)

“A Cozy Room with a Stunning View”

If you are looking for a hotel away from the busyness of the city, this is it. I booked a single room and I am a solo traveler. The view was incredible and the room was cozy. The breakfast provided good. I arrived after the office was closed and the instructions and key drop was easy to figure out. I did walk to old town, which took about 25 minutes and a lovely stroll through a park.

Lovely staff, fabulous variety and quality of breakfast (hot food including scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages, mueslis, bread, cheese, cold meats, teas and coffees, fruits, juices etc.), lovely location and very comfortable rooms. The hotel also has a great view over the city and close to city park and nearby hiking.

They have goats as lawnmowers ❤️

A very beautiful hotel located on top of a hill. Parking is free, but note that some spaces are on a very steep section. Parking there in reverse was sometimes an adventure, but also a fun challenge. Within a 10–15 minute walk you are already in the city center. On the way back to the hotel you do have to go uphill. Fortunately, if you follow the main road the climb is very gradual, which wasn’t tiring for us, though it might be more difficult for people with reduced mobility. The very last part to the hotel is a short but steep 20-meter climb, even for us. Our room was very clean and had a beautiful view over the city. Outside the hotel there is a terrace with a great view as well, where you can relax. The staff were very friendly and provided us with useful information about the city. Breakfast was included and we really enjoyed it. Since the hotel is on the edge of the city, it’s also very easy to get out and explore the surroundings. Within half an hour we reached beautiful hiking areas in the Black Forest. We also took a day trip to Colmar and the Alsace region, which are less than an hour’s drive away. Upon returning, there were always enough parking spaces available (early August). We found Freiburg to be a very pleasant city and we’d love to return. When we do, we’ll definitely book Caritas Tagungszentrum again. Highly recommended!

Very clean well maintained premises, Good parking lot,uncomplicated self check in,very friendly staff at reception at the time of check out.Reasonable prices for a big bottle of mineral water and a Coke I consumed . Unfortunately had no time for breakfast but must be good.

“Superb stay”

The location, 15 minutes outside of the old town is wonderful and gives beautiful views across the city and beyond. The rooms are basic, but comfortable and pretty well-equipped. The large windows opened fully and on a tilt mechanism, allowing you to get as little or as much fresh air as you wanted. There’s an honesty system for drinks and limited snacks, which came in handy for a late night beer. The breakfast was superb - fresh, tasty, good quality and great selection. The staff were exceptional, and the ability to hire a decent e-bike for €20/day a real bonus.

While not directly in the centre of Freiburg, it was conveniently located about 10 minutes walk outside. It was mostly very quiet and peaceful (though there was some noise, whose origin I could only speculate on, from the room above at about 3am). Bathroom corner is small but functional. Breakfast offered lots of options and was very good. The WiFi also worked very well.
