When booking it said that meals were not included, but on arrival the hostess told me I could help myself to breakfast. There was a variety of food available, and the kitchen was clean.

Very clean and very modern equipment. Kitchen are fine, fridge is always filled for breakfast. The landlady was very friendly! Toillets and showers are outside of the room but also they are very clean and modern. I would recommend this accommodation for anyone who like to visit nice Fredrikstad and have a budget accommodation at the highest standards.

This is not just a hotel – it’s much better. I expected a simple bed and breakfast, but got a full kitchen, big lounge, terrace, washing machine and dryer. Anka, the hostess, was incredibly kind and even hung my laundry so I could go explore. Breakfast is included – bread, cheese, cold cuts, eggs – and you can cook your own meals in the kitchen. There’s plenty of space, two stoves, two fridges, and two shared bathrooms for only a few rooms. I came for one night and stayed for two. The town, nearby islands, and lake are beautiful. Highly recommended – thank you, Anka!

“A nice family like feeling and good value for the money.”

The hostess/owner was very friendly and greeted us like family, There was a spacious kitchen with a well stocked fridge where we could make our own breakfast as home. Gjestehuset was a converted apartment with a living room, a winter garden and a nice family feeling, and had free parking, so we did not have to worry about that. In addition, Gjestehuset was within easy walking distance to the city center down at the water.

The breakfast was an unexpected surprise - a large fridge was stocked with everything you might want. The bedrooms and communal areas were comfortable and superclean. The property does not look particularly inviting from the outside, but "don't judge a book by its cover". Walking distance to the town centre and a large range of restaurants. Friendly and helpful host, keen to ensure that we had everything we needed and that everything was to our satisfaction. Convenient with free car park across the road - get a parking card from the host. Would gladly stay here again on a journey north or south. Highly recommended.

Spacious rooms with plenty of space to relax. A great bonus for smokers—a covered and well-equipped smoking area. The fridge was fully stocked, so there was no need to worry about getting breakfast supplies. Excellent service for the price, and the host was very kind and welcoming. Highly recommend!
