Overview
Located in the charming countryside of North Zealand, neighbouring Fredensborg Royal Castle, is Hotel Fredensborg Store Kro. In its elegant, traditional atmosphere guests can experience history at first hand. All Fredensborg Store Kro’s guest rooms and suites are beautifully and individually decorated. Seasonal ingredients are featured at the castle restaurant. Guests can choose from a selection of Danish and international cuisine. The restaurant is open daily for lunch, while dinner service is available from Wednesday to Saturday. Parties, receptions and other events can be arranged both in the restaurant and the reception rooms. These are suitable for groups of 10-120 people, from the Gallery to the Queen Margrethe Hall. Meeting rooms are practical, convenient and contain all modern AV and conference equipment.

“A great, classic, traditional hotel: beautiful rooms and superb food.”
Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all excellent. Very high quality cooking and presentation. The single rooms are small but perfectly adequate. Once I'd moved to the better larger room with a balcony I was really happy.

They didnt have any snacks or sodas for sale nor was there anywhere in town you could pick them up after hours. The reception closed at 800pm.

I didn't like that there was no option to iron our clothes in the Annex where we stayed. And when we used the ironing room, the iron-boards were old, and one of the irons were leaking water. This part were below my expectations.

Location is lovely and quiet, next door to a castle, nearly next door to a park and lake. Restaurant and barstaff are nice and welcoming. We enjoyed the dinner. Spacious room. Nice breakfast with helpful cook.

“Poor customer service”
The hotel is set in a fantastic location, and has an internal grandeur that the exterior doesn't suggest. Parking is ample and the bedroom was small but adequate.
