“Marketed as a luxury accommodation, Boschendal disappoints!”

We stayed at the retreat cottages, which are a little farer away as we expected from the manor / main building. However shuttles bring you there when needed. The wine tasting was great and the dinner & breakfast in the retreat restaurant where a real treat.

“Incredible property, with divine staff and plenty of activities”

The staff were incredible from the moment we arrived, especially with a quick shuttle service in the rain, firewood on hand for the cold, and the housekeeping team were very helpful.

“Heaven on earth”

This was our second time staying at Boschendal, and we really hope it won’t be the last! From the moment we arrived, we felt so well looked after and honestly couldn’t have asked for more. The staff are incredibly friendly, kind and dedicated, and they’re what really make Boschendal such a special place. The estate itself is absolutely beautiful and feels like a little piece of heaven. We’re so grateful to everyone who looked after us during our six-day stay. A special thank you to Derick for all the shuttle lifts, Llewellyn for his great advice on Cape Town, and Leonay for such a warm and easy check-in. The food and overall experience were just as amazing. The breakfasts were incredible every morning, and we loved eating at the Deli and Arum, both were fantastic. The wine tastings were such a highlight, and the farm shop is a lovely little place to wander around. We really can’t recommend Boschendal enough, it’s such a special place to stay!

The cottage was cosy and had a real fire (it was chilly while we were there). The pool area was quiet and secluded We were able to explore the estate and gardens on our own and stay away from the crowds

Such a beautiful venue. Loved the cottages, amazing breakfast and such lovely, friendly staff. Unfortunately it was very rainy while we were there…but it didn’t take away from the beauty of the place.

“Wonderful stay on this historic wine farm surrounded by beautiful mountains”

What a beautiful setting on this beautiful historic farm. Our family stay was wonderful, we should have booked an additional night as it was too short. The house itself was huge and very comfortable, and our adult kids had a great time. The staff at reception were really lovely and helpful. And what a treat to have the farm deli and the restaurants all close by.

Boschendal is an absolutely beautiful farm/vinery.

We were a group of 4 adults and two infants. We had visited Boshendal previously and were very excited to come back. We had saved up to stay here for 4 nights and were extremely excited. Unfortunately, it was the biggest let down. What I liked about the property is it was relatively quiet, and the beds are comfortable. The staff are also lovely.

“Nice stay in Franschhoek”

The winery is beautiful and offers great services, there is a lot of activities offered that you can do from the Estate. The Retreat Cottages are clean and are very spacious with a good layout. For families, the self-catering options are nice, for us it wasn’t the right fit.
