Overview
Avondrood is a small Cape Victorian-style guest house in the historical part of Franschhoek. It features an outdoor pool set within gardens, a reception room with a fireplace and wine bar, and free Wi-Fi in the lounge and patio area. All of the spacious guest rooms in this boutique guest house are equipped with a TV, air conditioning and an en suite bathroom. Some rooms provide views of the tranquil gardens or the Wemmershoek Mountains. A breakfast made of home-made pastries is served in the Avondrood’s dining room or out on the garden terrace. The restaurants of Franschhoek are just a few minutes’ walk away. Guests can relax on the sun terrace or explore the Wemmershoek Forest Reserve which is 2 km away. We loved everything about our stay here. The staff were incredible, which made it feel very personal. The rooms were lovely - very comfortable and quiet. It’s in an excellent location just on the outskirts of the town. The breakfast was great, lots of choice with a buffet and hot breakfast. We can’t wait to come back already!

Excellent location within a 5 min walk of the Main Street. Justin and his team were superb, extremely attentive and accommodating including suggesting and then booking local restaurants for us The property is in easy walking distance of the wine tram terminal and provides a varied and comprehensive range of breakfast options.

“A hidden gem of a boutique”
The location to the town, market and terminal was ideal. The staff were incredible - super helpful, knowledgeable about local wines and lines, and genuinely so friendly! A real family feel. Our room was spectacular - we stayed in the garden room which was a zen sun trap, and would strongly recommend if you’re planning on having some downtime between touring the farms. A quiet, well-kept and charming boutique which is great value for money. I’d come back again in a heartbeat.

“Absolutely brilliant, Warm, welcoming, felt like home and nothing seems to be too big of a ask.”
Breakfast was far beyond expectations. Because it is included in the price, we didn't expect too much. It was fantastic. We had to leave an hour earlier than breakfast started, and at no stage was it a problem for the night staff to prepare an early breakfast, every bit as tasty as the day before. Thx

Cost, quiet but near the main road. Breakfast was generous with both hot and continental dishes. Bed was amazingly comfortable. Nice hot tub for a late afternoon dip post wine trams. Everyone seems very eager to please.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such a warm welcome from Jamie-Lee. She showed us around and provided all the necessary information. The rooms were large, extremely comfortable, and set to a cozy temperature, perfect for winter. We had a fantastic experience! The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff was attentive. We enjoyed delightful snacks paired perfectly with our drinks from the bar. Breakfast was delicious, with a wonderful variety that left us completely satisfied. Highly recommend for a memorable visit!

This room is situated in the main house facing the street side with its own separate bathroom with shower only. Bed is a King size Double.
Superior Deluxe Double Room
This room has a private garden and terrace and is close to the pool and garden area. It has an en suite bathroom with under-floor heating, Victorian bath and separate spacious shower.
Superior Double Room
This large room overlooks the garden and comes with an LCD TV with a CD/DVD player. The room also offers extra long beds, a tea/coffee maker and a bathroom with free toiletries.
