Overview
Just 300 metres from the Franschhoek monument, in the heart of the Franschhoek Wine Valley, Akademie Street Boutique Hotel offers luxurious suites and traditional cottages, some with their own private swimming pools. All of the accommodation at Akademie Street is set in lush gardens and many have views of the mountains of the Cape Winelands. Each suite or cottage has its own theme and the property boasts with wood fired hot tubs and fragrant landscaped gardens. Gelatenheid Oortuiging and Vreugde each have their own sun-kissed swimming pool and shady, private garden. The fourth building, Uitsig is a separate, large, luxurious upstairs suite with balcony and lovely views. The fifth building, Twyfeling is a gracious Cape Dutch style house with large living rooms and two large bedroom suites. Uitsig and Twyfeling share a large, heated pool and garden. A full English breakfast is served each morning and the hotel’s concierge desk is open 24/7 to help you with restaurants, wine tours, hikes and advice on what to see and do. Akademie Street Boutique Hotel is just 30 minutes drive from Stellenbosch and hour from Cape Town.

“Best holiday stay I have had in a while.”
Best service from all staff, they are an amazing team. Room was perfect aesthetically and comfortable 👌 Pool area even has a warm section the staff takes care of you. Breakfast is the best, best options and very very tasty. I will be definitely going back soon.

“Absolute perfection 🫶🏻”
I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, it’s one of the nicest and most unique and very stylish hotels I have ever stayed in, and I’ve travelled a lot! Our room was sensational and the drinks in the Orangerie both before and after dinner in town, all complimentary, was out of this world. The Main Street in Franschhoek with its fab restaurants and shops is just a short walk away, so just book it, you will not be disappointed! Declan and his team have created something very special here, well done 👏🥰

The most beautiful boutique hotel with the kindest owner. We stayed here for 3 nights on our honeymoon and our stay was perfect. We enjoyed: the beautiful interior design, the friendly staff, the drinks hour in the orangery, the beautifully relaxing pool, the amazing breakfasts, the location.

“Wonderful place to stay when in Frankroesch, exactly the vibe you expect in the region.”
Wonderful boutique hotel in Frankroesch owned and runned by Declan who is passionate about hospitality and his guests. We had the most simple rooms inside the main house but they where already fantastic, large, very nicely decorated with vintage furniture and super clean and functional. The villa’s or flats looked amazing with their own small pools and garden. The 6pm cocktail in the orangerie was a good occasion to meet other guests from the 8 other rooms, maybe just missing a couple of things to bite. The village is walking distance and very safe day and night. The pool is just there to refresh but very nicely done with extremely comfortable sunbeds. Breakfast was extraordinary, fresh fruite, homemade granola and amazing menu. The staff was excellent and constantly looking at making our stay the best possible. We can’t wait to come back!
