The Chateau, the hosts, the location were all wonderful. We enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful home. visiting the surrounding towns and villages and sampling the wine produced at the Chateaux. Chris and his wife were the best hosts we could have wished for.

We were warmly welcomed by the friendly owners of this beautiful Chateau who invited us to share their exceptional home with them, which was decorated to the highest degree with exquisite taste, luxurious furnishings and beautiful adornments. Our bedroom was a sanctuary of comfort and style with plush pillows and the most wonderfully comfortable bed, which ensured a perfect night's sleep. Our bedroom was spotlessly clean, totally luxurious, with a wonderful view over the vineyard. The complimentary, high-end toiletries in our en suite were an added bonus. The breakfasts were fabulous with plenty of choice and the candlit breakfast table was a delightful touch. The overall atmosphere of the Chateau was one of sophisticated charm and grandeur. We highly recommend a stay at this stunning property for anyone seeking outstanding accommodation and the friendliest service. It is nothing short of exceptional and greatly exceeded our expectations. We cannot rate it more highly or the friendliness, care and warmth that we received by Chris and Irma, our wonderful hosts. It was a truly magical stay!

“A truly special stay at a beautiful château”

Château Masburel is absolutely stunning. The rooms are tastefully decorated and everything was spotless. Breakfast was delicious with great coffee, fresh pastries and bread, and lovely setting. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, sharing lots of helpful tips about the area and making us feel right at home. One of the highlights was the wine tour and tasting session at the Château. I ended up buying six bottles and honestly regret not taking more home. The location is ideal for exploring the region with Bordeaux and Bergerac within an easy access. There are also some excellent restaurants nearby. I would absolutely love to return! Highly recommended!

Chateau superb, including our hosts. Typical French country breakfast every day bought fresh from the local Boulangerie. Location fantastic, scenic, and so quiet. A rare country retreat.

Chris and his wife are the perfect hosts. The beautiful chateau is pretty much at your disposal whilst you're there . The tour of wine making was utterly brilliant, and the tasting afterwards even better . Pongo and pugsy the resident doggies are lovely too !! Epic .

We had booked a room on the Chateau but got upgraded to the Tapestry gite which was absolutely lovely. The breakfast was amazing. Chris and Irma were generous and helpful hosts. We enjoyed the tour of the winery and loved our stay. We highly recommend a stay at Chsteau Masburel. It was a great base to explore Périgueux, Bergerac, Sarlat and Saint Emilion.

“A perfectly relaxing stay in the beautiful Tapestry Gite”

We stayed in the two bedroomed Tapestry Gite for 5 nights and our stay was absolutely delightful - The gite had everything we needed for a truly relaxing break. The living space was very comfortable and the kitchen very well appointed for our self catered breakfasts and evenings when we stayed in to enjoy the Chateau's wine. The coffee machine was fantastic and we enjoyed a fresh cup with our morning croissants and Canneles Bordelais from Pâtisserie Druart. We all enjoyed our tour of the vineyard and learning about the wine production; and having tasted it, a couple of bottles also managed to come home with us! We enjoyed meals out in Sainte Foy La Grande and the local area, and Chris was very helpful with restaurant recommendations & making bookings for us. We also enjoyed trips to beautiful Périgueux & Saint-Émilion. Thank you to Chris and Irma, who were both very thoughtful hosts - the slippers were a delightful touch and much appreciated.

Beautiful en suite room with a large bed. The living space was very comfortable and well decorated. We loved our tour of the vineyard and learning more about the on site wine production. The wine was very nice as well. The surrounding area is quaint with great historical value, we enjoyed our time in Sainte Foy La Grande which is just a stones throw away. And all the facilities at the chateau were kept very clean. Chris and Irma were accommodating and thoughtful hosts.

A lovely, peaceful place to stay on a working vineyard. Chris and Irma were always on hand to help with anything and to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We also had a really enjoyable and informative tasting session - needless to say the wine is also excellent!

Exquisitely decorated chateau in quiet, beautiful grounds. The owners were so very welcoming and helpful , even making meal reservations for us. We enjoyed the wine produced at the chateau and had a wine tasting and tour. We had a wonderful break.
