“Fougères, a pleasant surprise!”

Lovely old house with lots of character. Michelle has given it many unique touches, with lots of handcrafted pieces around the house (wish I had the imagination to do the same!). Well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, large bathroom. Plenty free parking beside the house. We found the location to be quiet with a walk up into the town centre for shops, restaurants, tourist information etc. A great selection of places to eat within the town if you prefer to do so.

Loved the quirky house and wished we had stayed longer. Parking for motorcycles just in front of the door, and the place was easy to find. Very quiet and it’s impossible to miss or get any closer to the castle. Plenty of bars a restaurants in the day and evening in the beautiful town. Want to go back with the wife next time.

A lovely, spacious house full of character. Spotlessly clean. A brilliant location, minutes away from our favourite bars and restaurants. And what a castle!

Michèle, the host, is absolutely lovely - very friendly and helpful. The location couldn't be any better, and the free parking right outside is very handy. The house is very clean and clearly very loved, a lot of thought has gone into it, it has so much charm. Couldn't recommend it any higher

The house was charming and in a perfect location for visiting this historic town. We were extremely comfortable in the house and Michele had provided everything we needed for our stay.

Once we had settled in Michèle came to check that everything was fine and it was lovely to meet our hostess. There were some lovely homemade jams in the fridge, along with some bread, small cakes and butter to get us started and other provisions such as teas, coffee and milk. The whole gîte was like a home from home especially as the bedroom was upstairs. Lots of lovely decorative features and very comfortable. Right next to the castle which suited us very well!
