The location of Les Contes is superb- nestled into the mountains and so close to Montsegur. It’s a dedicated spiritual and animal rescue sanctuary. It’s more like a hostel and gathers people like a community. With a library, black Madonna chapel, morning somatic sessions, river and a big heart of welcome.

The remote location allowed me the integration with nature my heart was aching for. A perfect blend of antique flavours with a modern twist lends to a homely feel thanks to the wonderful caring nature of the hosts and staff… Natural spring waters including a cooling aquifer dipping pool straight out of the mountain bedrock is glorious. The locally sourced rustic breakfast and access to other rural living ways is a reminder of a resonance to a more earthly connected way of life. Par excellence 💙

The property is located in a Paradisiac setting surrounded by nature. The natural source and river running through the property bring serenity and a refreshing energy. The home is very cosy and welcoming, everyone very much makes you feel welcome and you’re invited to take part in the daily activities of tending to the animals and joining somatic practices if you wish to. The vegan café is delightful and the chef si very kind! It’s the perfect place to retreat to, reconnect with yourself and relax away from the business of everyday life. We only stayed one night and regretted not staying longer. We’ll be back!

Loved the shabby chic nature of Les Contes and its laid back attitude, do NOT go here if you are expecting the Hilton because its not, it is what it is its a beautiful building run by some amazing people in the most beautiful surroundings.

Well, we have been back in England for over a week now from our France trip all over the South of France (the true one, not the one people think, which is the Mediterranean one in the South East of France......). Staying at Les Contes was simply spectacular. My wife and two daughters loved it immensely. It was such a beautiful setting with the most amazing hosts Sophia and Pete (plus the goats!!!!!). Both of whom are the most amazing and loveliest of hosts in their beautiful house. It is so laid back and relaxing, artistically decorated and just quite simply put a safe haven to retire to and truly enjoy yourself. My eldest daughter having just finished her stressful degree education, stated to me 'I have not felt this chilled in three years' and having watched her reading her book by the stunningly beautiful clear water spring stream in the gardens I can wholeheartedly agree with her. The whole aura of the house was fantastic, lots of history surrounds and if you want an amazing time just to chill out then this is where you should venture............

Beautifully situated near Montsegur,. Such an extraordinary place with two rivers joining in a source. VERY helpful staff! Superrich breakfast.
