So happy I discovered this place near Fortuna!! Immediately added another night… and really hope to come back one day. Staying here means staying with a local, very friendly family, with all comforts: an incredibly comfortable bed, ac (if you want to use it), (very) hot shower (if you like)… and a knowledgeable, kind and calm owner who will take you around the garden for a (free!) nighttour, where you get to see a lot of different kinds of frogs (including redeyed, for sure), maybe a snake (I did!) or even a basilisk (I was very lucky). Meals and drinks are provided on site (if you like), without pressure to eat there and everything is very yummy. Varied breakfast options as well. All the staff is so friendly and helpfull. Driving up I saw a Toekan fly across the driveway… Sitting outside your cabin at night you get a free concert by the rainforest animals. Waking up in the morning you are greeted by a hummingbird. This place is a proper paradise retreat if you want to get away from the hussle and bussle of Fortuna. The price/quality is extremely fair, everything is clean and the cabin is beautifully made. You are close enough to the town, NP and hot water river to go for a dip at the end of your day and come back before dark to enjoy your little slice of paradise. Highly recommend adding this accommodation to your bucketlist if you want a quiet, authentic and truely relaxing place to stay. Muchas gracias por todo y hasta la próxima!

Super special stay in the Arenal area. The free frog tour was a great bonus and breakfast at the restaurant was great. Loved the room and the fact that we were surrounded by nature while being comfortable.

The wildlife around the property was incredible. So many beautiful birds and colourful frogs, it felt like staying in the jungle. We did the frog tour one night and saw so many incredible frogs and even 2 snakes, see photos attached. We did a tour alone one night as well and saw so many again easily, it’s thriving with life. The chalets were basic but comfortable with a large bathroom. Didn’t get too hot at night either. It’s family owned and the staff are so friendly and helpful! All generations were on site, we stayed to talk with them for quite some time. The soda restaurant on site was great too, we ate there everyday. My favourite stay in all of Costa Rica, very wholesome and good value!

“Great time in nature”

It really feels like you are in the jungle. The restaurant has great food and they feed the birds during breakfast. The froggy night tour was really fun and we saw lots of varieties of frogs.

Absolutely gorgeous property, anyone who loves nature must stay here! So many birds, frogs, and other creatures on your doorstep. Kind and attentive staff. The food is delicious and incredible value. I would absolutely stay here again!

“Friendly host and simple rooms”

The location was beautiful with all the plants around. Hearing the birds during the day and frogs in the evening was very special. The room itself was simple but had everything. The free night tour was very good. We saw lots of different frogs and the guide really knew where to look.

The grounds were amazing - lots of frogs and birds. The staff were very friendly and contacted me to let me know I had left my 500pf lens on a chair where we ate breakfast...we turned round after an hour and got it!|. The breakfast and my nachos from the night before were lovely. The portions are very large!!

“Great hide away next to town to spot even more wildlife”

Nature right on your doorstep, in the forests, sit in a hamock on the porch and spot tucans and humming birds. Free frog walk was great we saw so much, red eye tree frogs, bull frog, eels, snake and much more. Food was best value for money we found.

Loved bird watching from the restaurant. The staff was fantastic and offered us a complimentary frog tour.

Nice quiet place with a small pond and lots of animals. Everyday at 7pm a short frog spotting night tour is given for free. Original chalets with large semi-outdoor bathroom. Real "one-with-nature feeling. Real friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant (typical local 'soda') with bar has nice and affordable food.

Each time it was fun and very interesting - great food - small bungalow in the middle of a tropical garden - few minutes drive to la fortuna (but outside la fortuna, so companies probably won't pick you up). - very quiet and relaxing.

Great location, amazing hosts, great food - highly recommend to get the typical breakfast and dinner there. It is delicious homemade meal. The nature around the area is also awesome and the night frog tour was the best.

The owner was very nice and the most amazing thing was free little night tour he offered us :). We just walked in the garden but he found a snake, tree frogs, toad, cicadas, stick insect and some spiders. It's a frog paradise and I really enjoyed to watch these colourful ones :). During the day we saw some interesting birds. The little house is quite sweet but the room was very small and I wish to see less insects inside ;), the bathroom is huge though - with even a tiny garden inside :). It's quite far from the town, but I think it's good to visit this place even just for this lovely night tour :)).
