“Great value hotel with stunning views”

Stayed here twice because it worked very well for me. The rooms have stunning views over the bay - far better than expected. Breakfast is very good, and the staff were efficient, professional, and problem-free throughout my stay. The hotel is clean and clearly well maintained, with some renovation work ongoing, which is a good sign.

The room was very spacious and well-maintained, with a large balcony offering a nice view. The convenience store inside the building was appreciated. The facial recognition system for entering the building made us feel more secure. The breakfasts were great, with a good variety of daily options.

I made a reservation from the 13th to the 22nd at the Iate Plaza hotel in Mucuripe, Fortaleza, Ceará. When checking in, I found out that the hotel is in terrible condition: no maintenance of the rooms, broken sofa, facial recognition for entry does not work, broken and visually dirty bathtub, noise from early in the morning until late at night, strong smell of sewage (even though it is on the 11th floor) and no working internet. Only after complaining, after two days, was a router installed in the room. Given these circumstances, I decided to check out of the hotel earlier, on the 15th in the afternoon, which would be officially on 12/16, and move to a decent hotel. The reception informed me that the value of the daily rates from the 16th to the 22nd would not be refunded. The hotel did not want to make the cancellation policy available, but rather the check-in record, saying that it does not refund the reservation, which goes against the contract made by Booking, which defines clearly a cancellation fee. As already said, after many problems with the hotel, I decided to check out early. However, the most critical situation came: a very ill-prepared person, identified as "head of reception", after almost two hours at the reception waiting, said that she could provide the check-out only on the 22nd and that only Booking could check out earlier, on the 16th, confirming my departure from the hotel. Being extremely concerned about this situation, as the hotel could accuse me of any damages, even though I was no longer in the hotel, I opened a police report (BO) with the tourist police to protect myself and, after that, I returned the entrance card. The same employee said that any problem I should deal with Booking directly and not with them. After sharing pictures with booking, they reimbursed me following the cancelation policy, however until now the Hotel did not provide any feedback to me. Check-in is quite easy and staff is very friendly. The view is definitely a 4 star view. The room size is very nice. Access to and from the airport is very good
