We stayed at Dutchess for 7 nights and were very satisfied with the stay. The staff was super helpful and welcoming and even helped us with our program in Fort Portal. They planned two daytrips trips for us, even with short notice. The food was very tasty and the rooms clean and comfortable.

“Central and convenient place with friendly and helpful staff”
It is very centrally located in Fort Portal, nice garden to sit in, the restaurant at hand has good choices and of course Pizza Torax is unparalleled :-). Or if you like to go out, other places are easy to reach on foot (e. g. Gardens restaurant for breakfast and coffee) or by boda - e. g. Fort Motel and Mountains of the Moon Hotel which have pools open for outsiders. Rooms are spacious indeed.

“Great hotel with lovely staff”
The Dutchess is a great hotel centrally located in Fort Portal. The staff is very attentive and the food at their restaurant is delicious and offers a great variety. The WiFi is working very well and the rooms are clean and equipped with mosquito nets. We would definitely stay here again next time.

The receptionist/cashier was incredibly rude on numerous occasions, and even led me to miss my ride back to Kampala because she didn’t show up on time for my check out.
