“Strong chemical smell”

I had a very unpleasant experience at this motel and would not recommend it. The room we were given seemed newly decorated, but instead of being an upgrade it turned into a problem: the strong chemical odor from the fresh renovation/paint was overwhelming. It was so bad it gave my mother a headache and ruined our ability to relax. This was supposed to be a special trip, bringing her to the National Park for the first time, but the room itself caused discomfort right away. The next morning, all of the room’s appliances—including the TV, microwave, coffee maker, and hair dryer—lost power and could not be used. On top of that, the Wi-Fi was extremely poor, basically unusable during our stay, which added even more frustration. The worst part, however, was how the motel handled the complaint. Not only were they dismissive at the time, but when I followed up by email, they completely ignored me and never responded. It feels like they simply don’t care about guest experiences at all. Overall, between the chemical odor from the new renovation, broken appliances, bad Wi-Fi, and the motel’s ghosting of complaints, this stay completely fell short of expectations. Definitely not a place I’d recommend if you value comfort and service.

We were pleasantly surprised to be in a room that seemed to be brand new! (must be a whole new building?) The queen beds were very comfortable and everything was clean and well appointed. Locations was great for a morning trip to Rialto Beach. Nearby Pacific pizza had a long wait in the evening, but had outdoor seating and good food to feed the family. The parking lot was well lit so it felt safe (though a dark sky would have also been nice for sky views). Check in went smoothly. Having read other reviews, I was a bit worried about how it might be, but it was a great room. Very clean, no smoke, no mildew, no bugs, no questionable bedding. Front desk was helpful and gave us an extra pillow by request.

We were in new room and everything was fine there. Great towels, great beds.

Great location and very friendly staff. It was great to have a microwave and fridge. Loved the hand soap that was not a soap bar! Great old heater! (There was also a new AC that I did not understand how to use)

The staff will really go above and beyond to give great customer service. Appreciate their efforts so much. They also have useful local information that isn't easily available online.

The room was warm and clean and comfortable. There was a mini-fridge, microwave, and cable TV. The staff was friendly and the space was perfect for what we needed for one night.
