“Incredible potential but needs some touch ups”

- very nice surroundings in the midst of nature - premise is spread out and there are nice walkways at the lakefront as well as through the forest - wildlife around the area is quite diverse with different kinds of birds, monkeys (especially howlers), basilisks and crocodiles to spot, among others - rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated with a lovely balcony - shower gets warm and has nice water pressure - most of the staff is very kind and accommodating - - breakfast was plenty and nice

The hotel is located outside the city in the jungle in a very nice and quite environmentally. The room was renovated lately and looked very nice from inside. The the stuff was very nice and efficient especially the receptionist- she was great and had a wonderful English. There are a few trails around the hotel which you can walk or use the bike- very nice trip

“Totally fabulous!”

Everything especially the nature reserve, location of bungalows, hiking opportunities, wildlife, staff, show - this is a totally fabulous hotel.

Beautiful grounds on a natural lagoon with plenty of fauna and animal life, including alligators.

Raw beauty in the forest around Wonderful environment with the sound of animals. A peaceful rest after the fireworks and late night festivals of Flores

Amazing location in the jungle with monkeys and birds right outside your window and a crocodile you can find by the water. Nice to have the paths to walk too. Room was clean and spacious with a balcony. Lovely pool area and place to sit by the lake. Well priced transfer to Flores for 150Q.

“Excellent stay”

Restaurant, staff, food, service, location, jungle walks, lagoon, resident crocodile, swimming pool, housekeeping was all fabulous. Front desk staff were absolutely lovely.

Booking stated that breakfast included & it was not

great location for visiting tikal. Staying in the jungle in very comfortable and cozy bungalows. near flores town we also saw a crocodile in its natural environment. they also have a swimming pool and a very good restaurant. highly recommend

“Relaxing and beautiful stay but far from the center and pricey (with food consumption)”

The view of this place was amazing, with all the animals around it was great. You were alone but keep in mind it is at least 200Q to the center of Flores (and almost no tours pick you up from that hotel) Room was comfortable and with AC. Pool is bigger than in the picture.

Great stay at this beautiful property. The views are beautiful, the rooms are very nicely decorated and the staff is very nice. The only inconvenience was that is was quite far from the centre of Flores which made excursions quite complicated. I would recommend them to set up a shuttle service as an extra service to the guests to facilitate visits and excursions.

“very lovely and relaxing place”

The place is located in the heart of nature, next to a lovely lake. The rooms are of a high standard and the restaurant and bar are excellent. Entering and exiting the resort costs a lot of money. And this should be taken into account if you are planning to travel.

“If visiting Flores for a few days, stay here! Especially if you have a car”

Everything, we stayed more days and still had to pay for another accomodation. There was a crocodile to watch at breakfast. The food was good, the lake view, room and shared spaces were great, quiet and well designed. Clean, staff were friendly. We were a little concerned it was a little far from Flores but it was perfect, only a ten minute drive and easy to get to Tikal

“Beautiful stay at Villa Maya”

We really enjoyed our two night stay at Villa Maya - it's in a lovely location next to the water and has a great pool and restaurant. We felt it was good value for money. Our room was very spacious and comfortable with a lovely shower and balcony.

“Misleading, disingenuous and bad service”

Really disappointed with the hotel service and especially the manager who refused to speak to me. I asked to talk directly to her but she refused to leave her office as she only speaks Spainish (i speak spanish) - very odd a manager refuses to help her customers. We had the following issues: - We arrived late by taxi. Security guard watched us say goodbye to the taxi driver, and then opened the gate and told us it was a 20 mins walk in the dark. It was on a dirt track road and we had luggage. No help from staff at all. - Late check in: worst check in ever. We were given a key and they pointed to the direction of the room. No info given - eg about breakfast etc. We had to ask for everything the next day. No one from the day time staff checked. - they say there is an open air gym. Massive lie. There is a machine that has been broken for months if not years. - Tried to communicate on WhatsApp to organise tours before we arrived. They basically ignored messages and when they eventually replied, it was useless and too late to organise anything - Room pictures are very misleading and disingenuous especially as they include picture of a much bigger bungalow with 2 beds. It includes.pictures of different bungalows so you have no idea what you are booking - balcony furniture is uncomfortable ffor the price we paid - cheap body wash/ shampoo in the shower - nowhere to hang wet towels in the all room, including hand towel next to sink - you'd expect a self service filtered water station at reception. At least, you can ask at the bar We did complain and got an acceptable resolution, however nothing said from the manager. We were polite the entire time but she was rude. I was disappointed not to have a late checkout saying the hotel was full but when I checked online, I could book a room.
