“The perfect home stay in San Miguel. Very good value for money!”
Everything! We were so pleased we decided to stay in San Miguel. You access the property in San Miguel by boat. This was in-fact a great experience and the boats run constantly from 5am-11pm so it’s totally doable. Lesbia the host helped us plan our trips and did everything to ensure we were comfortable. We loved sitting on the balcony and watching sunrise/sunset and all the fantastic wildlife.

“Quiet and pleasant, but extra time required to get there from Flores (but worth it;))”
The entire construction is wooden and quite squeaky. The area is very quiet, which I loved and which contrasted with the noisy neighbouring Flores island. The room had a pleasant terrace with an amazing view on the lake (mosquito repellent recommended). The owner helped us arrange a boat to the island at 3am (for the sunrise Tikal tour).

“Perfect spot in Flores with amazing hosts.”
The best thing about our stay were our hosts. We were only there for two nights and arrived late and left early and they helped us so much with booking everything we needed which meant our short stay went so smoothly. The communication from our hosts was 10/10. Our room was big and had everything we needed.

“Quiet and relaxing”
We had a room right on the lake with great views of the Island of Flores. Lots of small shops nearby. The collective boats are everywhere. The host family is friendly.

“Affordable accommodation with a beautiful view of the lake”
Probably one of the cheapest accommodations on Flores. It's not located on the main island or in Santa Teresa, but on the other side of the lake, in San Miguel. So you have to take a boat, which costs 10 Quetzales. The rooms are basic, but the balcony with a view of Flores was more than adequate. Clean and tidy room, comfortable bed, and fans to help you cope with the heat. The bathroom is en-suite and has the typical Central American smell due to the small toilet pipes. You can swim in the lake, but if you want to swim near the hotel/posada, you should ask the owner if it's okay, as caimans can be found there. Not far from the accommodation, there are several mini-markets and very inexpensive restaurants (compared to Flores). The hostel also provides free drinking water and a refrigerator.

Absolutely loved my stay with this cute family. Amazing location in the more chilled area of San Miguel, I loved it's not in busy Flores and a boat is maybe 3 min...you have a kitchen to use, a garden with a lot of animals to see from your terrace and you'll get all the help you need! Go there, it's amazing and great to go from there to Tikal.

We had a great stay here as part of our trip to Flores - we really enjoyed staying off the main island as it was much quieter (and cheaper) and the very short boat ride across is beautiful. Lesbia was so helpful during our stay and booked our Tikal tour for us for a great price (compared to what I heard other people on our tour saying they had paid). The room was really spacious with a great bathroom and lovely terrace area to sit out over the lake. Would definitely recommend!

Julio and his wife are the nicest people ever! They were so sweet and welcoming. They also helped us with bookings for Tikal and Yaxha. We had room with a beautiful view of the lake. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Lesbia and Julio are very warm and welcoming hosts. They made me feel like at home, we had nice conversations and it was a great pleasure to stay with them for some days. My room was huge with a big balcony directly above the water - very cool! The location is not in the Flores Island but in San Miguel - so if you search for a calmer non touristic area that's your choice! From Flores it is easy to arrive with a small boat in about 5 mins. Also recommended to book the tour to Tikal etc. and transports with them, they offer for a good price. And it is helpful to know some Spanish as their English is limited (but Julio is learning!) 😊 muchas gracias 🥰

Beautiful occasion, water was high so I went for a dip straight from the veranda, easy to reach by boat, more relaxed vibes than crowded flores, Lesbia and her husband are so friendly and helpful ♥️🙏 Our bus was late, made us arrive at 11:30 pm and they helped us to find a boat and pick us from the lake.

“The warnest family, great stay, clean and at the water!”
The owners of this very nice and clean posada will give you the warmest welcome, they have a colourfull garden (with somesurprises!) en house and you stay directly at the water. You will have a little balcony, as well as a kitchen and free filtered water. The room itself can be a bit noisy with sounds of neighbours. If this one is full, you can ask to stay at the posada of their familiy, also amazing, lakeview, clean and quiet! 2 mins walking. Make sure you take the collectivo to ; Restaurante Ve amar! 2 mins walk from there.

“Great experience”
Posada Don Julio is a fantastic place to stay, offering breathtaking views of the lake. The house is practically on the water, creating a serene and unique atmosphere. The family running the posada is incredibly welcoming and helpful, making the experience even more enjoyable. It’s important to note that the house is not located in Flores itself but on the opposite side of the lake. To get there, you’ll need to take a small local boat that runs every five minutes for just 10Q. This adds an extra touch of charm and adventure to your stay. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. While the WiFi is typical for Guatemala—not very strong—it’s enough for basic needs around 5-6 Mbps Overall, it’s a wonderful experience for those looking to immerse themselves in the tranquility of the lake and the warmth of local hospitality. Highly recommended!

“The loveliest hosts!”
The family hosts were the absolute highlight of the stay! They went out of their way to help me organise tours and transport, did some laundry at no cost and were very patient with my terrible Spanish! The location in San Miguel is great and less touristy - I had no issues catching the boats when needed (but be aware of the additional costs at 10Q each trip and 20-30 for other stops, not easy to just drop things off after tours and get some food etc.)
