The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with great attention to detail in the decor, creating a very special and welcoming atmosphere. The beds are very comfortable, with plenty of pillows. The rooftop terrace is amazing, and the pool with a view over the lake is simply stunning – a real highlight. There is also a lovely bakery in the hotel, which adds to the overall experience. The staff were fantastic – very friendly, attentive, and always helpful. Would definitely come back

I loved staying at this hotel it was very comfortable, clear, safe and very beautiful! Great decor the restaurant on the roof was tasty and the views were 10/10! The pool was shaded and had a great set up! I would absolutely recommend this hotel!

“Staff shortcomings”

When we arrived at the hotel to check-in we were told to pay a different rate than confirmed on booking.com. The hotel currency was USD, but they only accepted cash USD payment. Since we do not live in the US we clearly had no USD cash at hand and we had to pay in quetzales by card, for which they used an exchange rate favouring the hotel and thus would cost us more than the higher rate in USD. Also did the receptionist tell us the higher fare had breakfast included, which we did not book. She also could not offer us a solution by granting the fare confirmed on booking.com and we thus felt forced to confirm the higher rate with breakfast included. Whilst confirming I clearly asked if breakfast was included for all 4 nights - which was confirmed by the receptionist. On the first morning when getting breakfast, staff told us that we did not have breakfast. We quickly got it resolved by talking to the same receptionist. On the second morning we experienced the same issue, the list showed that we did not have breakfast included. I talked to the reception again (staff of check in and first morning was not on duty) and she told me that only 1 breakfast was included. When we explained the situation, the conversation made it seem as though she was placing the blame on us and not accepting any responsibility (“giving you breakfast for all nights is a lot of money”). As we did not want to further invest our energy in endless discussions, we settled on her solution: 2nd breakfast waived and no further breakfasts for the other nights. Throughout our stay we also felt that the personal was not acknowledging us and other guests. When waiting to ask something at the reception there were never any hello’s or smiles to acknowledge that we were there, even when staff passed us. When we were talking with a staff member, most of the times other colleagues would ask that staff member something. Their focus was never fully on the guest.

It is a beautifully decorated hotel and the food is excellent.

Overall, the experience was good and the hotel is nice. The room was clean and fairly with everything you needed. They also give a coupon to get a beverage at their restaurant

Love the decoration of the place, it feels really welcoming. Also its in a great location on the island so it was close to everything in the island and extra points for the restaurant, bakery and bar.
