The atmosphere was quite pleasant. We had a clean room, comfortable beds, and fresh linens. There was also an outlet by the bed. We were provided with towels and toiletries. In the common area, we could make tea and coffee. There was also a refrigerator for guests to use. The owner allowed us to leave our luggage after check-out.

Check-in instructions clearly defined, so we had no problems, even if we came late at night. The room was clean, but very small, with old limited furniture. In the kitchen there is a kettle and some tea/coffee, and a fridge where you can store your food. No dishes though are provided. There was no reception or staff that I could find during day time, only cleaning staff. The location is nice, 10-15min walk to the main square, and 15 min walk from the train station. Towels, shampoo and bath cream were provided.

My experience at Hotel Gênese in Florence was extremely disappointing and frustrating. From the moment we arrived, everything fell below expectations. The room was extremely small, as was the bathroom, which had a major issue: after taking a shower, the floor would become completely soaked, making the space unusable and unsafe. There was no reception or any kind of support available from the staff. We struggled with noise in the hotel as other guests were throwing parties late into the night, making it almost impossible to sleep. On one occasion, we were forced to confront some guests about the noise around midnight since there was no one from the hotel to intervene. The hotel’s cleanliness was also far from acceptable. It was clear that hygiene standards were not maintained. Additionally, the elevator was out of service, which made our stay even more difficult, especially considering there was no one available to offer help or assistance. The only advantage of the hotel was its location, but that does not make up for all the issues we faced. Hotel Gênese was, without a doubt, the worst hotel we have ever stayed at, and I would not recommend it to anyone. The disorganization and lack of care for guests are unacceptable.

Our host provided clear instructions for accessing the property and we received a nice welcome at the hotel reception desk when we checked in. Ideal location in terms of the proximity of the main train station. The shared facilities were okay, with plenty of tea and coffee making options and a large shared fridge. Our room was a very good size and it had lots of storage space
