Overview
Just a 10-minute walk from Florence Cathedral, Hotel Diplomat is in the historic centre, near Santa Maria Novella Train Station. Rooms come with free WiFi. We loved everything in the hotel. Great location, amazing room and the best staff. Ermelinda in particular was extremely nice, assisting us with our dog, our room and our luggage after checking out. While doing everything with a smile. So definitely recommend and worth the price.

Room had a balcony overlooking Florence and the train station. Proximity to the station was excellent particularly for a short stay. Staff were very helpful.

I booked it as it was opposite the station and good value for money and it was far better than expected. The room was large - we got an upgrade 😉 We checked in early too - all ready 👏 and we were looked after by the wonderful Giovanna - thanks for her recommendations to look at Bobboli gardens - fabulous! Bus around the corner and in the evening her dinner recommendation 🙏

“Great location”
It's a refurbished old property and it has been done well. The staff are nice and they gave us a voucher for commentary drinks at the bar between 4 and 6pm which was good. The room is comfortable. The Room was good but the bathroom is very small. But that's probably the only negative. It is right across the road from the train station which suited us perfectly....

Hotel is just opposite the train station! Convenient, clean, good sleep in comfy bed, bathroom with uncomplicated shower and a very satisfying breakfast. All staff were friendly and I like to express my special thanks to Alessandra at the front desk for being helpful in storing our many luggages during checkout. She is really chill and friendly. I loved her attitute for not making any fuss about our many bags and staying really proffessional:) Thank you and I recommend this hotel for its friendly staff and superb location!

“I would not stay at this hotel again.”
When I booked through Booking.com, it said the hotel had air conditioning. Upon arriving at the room, I was surprised to find that, according to the receptionist, there was no air conditioning in any of the rooms, as mandated by the hotel company. We experienced three hot days in Florence, and the receptionist offered to leave the window open, which we did. But to my surprise, there were mosquitoes even on the third floor; I have four mosquito bites. This is a brief account without mentioning other issues. The hotel should clearly state in its advertisement that it does not have air conditioning and not include false information.
