Finkenberg is an amazing surprise. And Haus Sonnegg, too. Not the most modern accommodation you've seen, but definitely cozy, comfortable, close to the ski lift (10 minutes walking distance) and with amazing, not too intrusive, really helpful hosts.

“Cozy, quiet and very welcoming!”

We stayed here for the second time, as we really enjoyed our first visit. It was perfect back then, and it has remained so! There is literally nothing to complain about — the rooms are spacious, cozy, and well-equipped, the beds are comfortable, the breakfast is delicious and very hearty, the view is amazing and the location is convenient. It takes just a few minutes to get to one of the main lifts, and the area is much quieter and less party-oriented than down in Mayrhofen. Most importantly, the atmosphere and the hosts’ incredibly warm and welcoming approach truly stand out. We were very happy to be back and can’t wait to come again. Thank you!

Excellent accommodation in a great location, with easy access to the town, local attractions, and a variety of ski slopes, including the glacier offering superb skiing conditions. The owner was exceptionally kind, very helpful, and made the stay even more enjoyable. The apartment was extremely clean, well maintained, and fully equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay, with a nice bonus of stainless steel pans instead of the usual worn-out non-stick ones. The mountain views were stunning, and the ski storage facilities were a great addition. Free parking on the property was very convenient, and there were great walking areas nearby. A flawless experience overall!

Breakfast was decent. Location was good and easy to access, reasonably close to ski entrance. The beds were extremely comfy, also internet speed was excellent.

Great! Great! Very nice and helpful Host :) Good atmosphere, daily cleaning of rooms and bathrooms. Tasty breakfasts, delicious coffee! Well-equipped drying room. Really good location. Family atmosphere, worth coming back for.

Great place if you come with a car. They have parking next to the house. Finkenberg lift is 2 minutes drive and parking is free and close. House is clean, great view and the manager is very nice.

Friendly and helpful owners. Lovely view of the mountains from our balcony. Hearty breakfast with nice cakes, fresh bread and cheese, milk and muesli, fruits, etc. ~5 min walk to ski lift and ~3 min to bus stops. Tip: Don't forget to bring your own soap / shampoo as is typical for most alpine stays -- good to avoid wastage. Towels are provided.

“Beautiful accommodation with only few minor suggestions”

The hotel owner (the lady, I can't remember her name) was absolutely lovely! She was so welcoming and pleasant throughout our whole trip. Our room was located on the first floor, which was a leg saver after a long day. We didn't have breakfast with being self catering, however we were given some fresh bread rolls every morning without fail, which was lovely. The hotel is further down the hill from the gondola and is quite a steep walk up. There are multiple ski busses and buses to Mayrhofen and hintertux which are really convenient, and there's a timetable on the pinboard in the hotel near the breakfast room.

Super knowledgeable and friendly owner, who gave us a lot of good tips for the trip. Very clean and comfortable room for a good price. Definitely will come back if we visit the valley again.

Everything was just perfect. We will be back for sure.

“Family skiing holiday in Finkenberg”

Great location, super friendly and knowledgeable host, great breakfast to set you up for an active day. Hays Sonnegg is a really great base for the Mayrhofen/Zillertal region, it's a mere 300m walk to the main ski lift, or a 10m walk to the free skibus. A hidden gem, we would return in a heartbeat.
