“Check supply situation before arriving”

As per my other entry. One thing I forgot to mention: the owner told me before I arrived that there would be "no groceries". This turned out to mean literally nothing comestible in the flat when I arrived: no salt, no oil, no sugar, no teabags, coffee - nothing at all. The place had been scoured. There was a dribble of laundry liquid but no more. I was only staying a few days so the small quantities of the basic dry groceries that you usually get in rented accommodation would have seen me through, but I had to buy considerable quantities that I wouldn't need. I asked when I left that everything non-perishable I hadn't used and couldn't take with me be left for the next guest. So the next person staying should find: a full box of teabags, jar of nescafe (nearly full), large container of laundry liquid by the washing-machine and conditioner (nearly full) in the shower. If those items are not there, you are within your rights to request that they be supplied by the owner. My email is [email protected].

“Charming place in Italian borgo”

Stunning location in the middle of an old fortiified village typical of the region. The apartment is enormous, on two levels - six people could comfortably stay here. The views are amazing - as well as the spacious loggia, there are two balconies on the upper floor. Decor is simple but homely. Equipment likewise. A pair of scissors, some more cutlery (especially teaspoons), and bowls would be useful. The church bells have been mentioned by some previous guests. If you are very noise sensitive this might not be the ideal place. The mattresses on the two double beds are very hard.

"A Spacious Holiday Home in the Heart of Castello di Malgrate" The unique location in the borgo of Castello di Malgrate is truly special. The holiday home is surprisingly spacious — even more so than the photos suggest — and equipped with everything you could possibly need. Thanks to the shutters and thick walls, it stays pleasantly cool even on hot days. The only thing you need to bring yourself is food; everything else is provided. Previous complaints about church bells and singing are greatly exaggerated. Every village has its bells, and while you might notice them on the first day, you quickly get used to them. We even had the pleasure of hearing singing from the neighbors once, which only added to the charm of the house and the surroundings. The loggia is perfect — no matter the weather, you can always sit outside. The terrace above is ideal for true sun worshippers, and thanks to the elevated location, you often enjoy a refreshing breeze.

Superb setting. In the ramparts of a Castle! With stunning views of the surroundings. Quiet village. Large bedrooms. Comfy Lounge, reading room, balconies, Upstairs terrace. Easy drive to La Spezia ( for Cinque Terre access) 2nd toilet a bonus for a party of 5. ( bring your own spices, coffee/ tea, oils, washing powder, shower gel)

Spacious appartment, comfort beds and couch. Old, but good furniture. Big terraces. Charming village and friendly villagers.
