A simple hotel with tasty breakfast and super friendly staff

Lovely staff, quiet, excellent shower and comfy bed. Able to make a coffee and sit on the terrace looking at the alps. Loved the single room balcony and the view. Bike storage. Breakfast was okay.

Very good breakfast, free tea and coffee throughout the day. Close to a nice pizzeria, perfect to quickly go grab dinner after a day at the ski slopes. Basic room, but with everything you need.

Quiet clean comfortable room. Complimentary hot drink before 7pm. Breakfast was super and could boil your own eggs too. Parking in front of hotel.

Good options for Breakfast. Room were a bit smaller but clean. Staff was very supportive.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Derby. Our room was large and quiet with comfortable beds (two single beds pushed together). As it says in other reviews, everything is a bit old but everything works and is spotlessly clean and for us that is most important. There was a good selection for breakfast and coffee/tea was available for free during the day. They also sell some other drinks and snacks (self-service). It's convenient that the breakfast room can be used for playing a game (many available) or having a drink in the evening. The location is about a 10-15 minute walk from the railway station and center of the village where there are shops, restaurants, etc.

Really tasty breakfast. Easy check in. Christina was polite and really helpful. Great area if you're looking for some quiet. At least, it was in our case since we were almost alone at the hotel at this time of the year.

Avoid booking the superior room — you pay more than for a standard room, but what you get is a bright hotel neon light that makes it impossible to enjoy sitting on the balcony in the evening. Breakfast was really good, the location is fine, and the room was clean, but the strong light completely ruined the experience.

Lovely cosy hotel

“Really nice hotel”

The hotel was a traditional ski hotel, visited out of ski season. The rooms were small, but cosy. They were clean with the standard decor expected, wooden furniture and rustic charm from the 80s. The breakfast had plenty of variation. There was hot chocolate, ovaltine and decaf coffee available to make yourself as these weren't on the coffee machine. The bathrooms were small but they were clean and modern. The location was good with stunning scenery nearby and nearby restaurants. It was possible to walk to the gondola from the hotel and take a ride up to the egishorn. The hotel send you a link to sign up for a visitor card for the area before arrival. This digital card gets you discounts, including 10% off the gondola.

Very friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. Nice breakfast was offered. When we asked for a hairdryer, we were immediately helped. We were also allowed to make use of luggage storage after checking out. The room and bathroom were small, but it had everything we needed. The hotel is walking distance from the train station. It's uphill, but that's what you can expect in Switzerland ;)
