This is beautiful and atmospheric Dar. It is family owned and they make you feel so welcome. Breakfast was massive, beds are comfy, the terrace has a gorgeous view over the medina.

Fatima and Reda we're wonderful hosts, helping us with tours and navigation as well as seeing to all the details of our stay. The property is an absolutely stunning home first built in 1366 and then renovated nearly 600 years later in 1946. The mosaics, woodcarving and historical features of the home are a tribute to the artisianal feel that takes you back in time. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

This hotel is ideal for a solo traveler. The room was very clean, with stable hot water and excellent Wi-Fi. I felt safe with good lighting and CCTV installed in the alleyway. The staff's hospitality was outstanding—they well took care of me, offered a great breakfast, recommended and arranged a wonderful day trip, and even helped me set up the "Maps.me" app with local sightseeing sites. Highly recommended!

“Beautiful clean Rad in great location with the most helpful Manager we have come across.”

Location was great, very quiet and very close to a main street in the Madina and less than 10 minutes from the Blue Gate. The manager was fantastic and sat down and explained everything about Fes and marked our map with all the things to see and gave us some restaurant suggestions and also helped us organise a private car to drive us to Rabat. The Rad is beautiful and felt very safe and secure and our room was very clean and large and the heater worked really well in January. The breakfast was great including pancakes, croissants, jam, honey, fresh juice, tea and coffee, more than you can possibly eat. Great views from the rooftop.

Lovely place in central Fez (where the street Souks markets are) tucked back inside so no noise from the outside. Fantastic room with comfy high beds and heaps of character. They do generally treat you like family. Best place i stayed in Morroco and possibly elsewhere in terms of service and hospitality. Would stay again if visiting Fez again. Fatima and family staff will sort transfers and other touristy details for you and be good prices (not rip off tourist prices) Highly reccomended.

“Great hosts, gorgeous Dar in fabulous location!”

Reda and Fatima are terrific hosts, Fatima kindly explained to my taxi driver best mtg point for drop off and then met me and guided me through Medina to Dar. Reda was great at explaining all the key sites to visit during stay. I had three days at the Dar and it was the highlight of my visit to Morocco. I simply loved The Medina, no where near as touristy as Marrakech, especially in evening after daily tour buses have left. The breakfasts were delicious and kept me sustained until late afternoon! The Dar is beautiful inside and really is a pleasure to retreat to after the business of the Medina.

We loved everything about our stay. Reda and Fatima made sure that every was was absolutely amazing for our stay. The room was excellent. The bed was especially comfortable. Breakfast was ample. I would really want to mention about Reda's hospitality. He gave us the lay of the land. Provided us with recommendations and even coordinated with our driver for pickup at the end of our stay. Very very very highly recommended.

“Fantastic stay, excellent breakfast and super friendly staff!”

Great location, walking distance to everything you need. The breakfast was excellent! So much variety - something for everyone for sure - both sweet and salty with freshly prepared fruit salads, tea, coffee, juices, different types of breads and pancakes, etc. The staff were all super friendly and very helpful providing tips and recommendations around the city. Nice rooftop for an evening chill with a book and a tea. The riad is also located on a small side street so away from the medina noise.

Fatima and all the staff were very welcoming and helpful. They were available to answer questions, and gave great recommendations. The location is inside the medina and Fatima met us at our taxi to bring us right to the riad. All the highlights of Fes are easy walking distance and there happens to be an excellent restaurant across the street - Nghma Wa Tay. The riad itself is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable (we stayed in February and we were plenty warm), and the rooftop is perfect for both sunrise and sunset views.

“Quiet oasis with a view”

Beautiful place very well located in a quiet side alley of the medina. Fatima and the whole team are really welcoming and super friendly people. The house has a rooftop terrasse with one of the best views over the old town. The (single) room I booked was small but cozy. Without asking for it I was offered a bigger room for free on day two, but decided to stay in the smaller one as it was so cozy. But I appreciate the nice offer. Hot shower and AC (heating and cooling) worked well. The breakfast was the best I had during my two weeks in Morocco. Also, the tips shared about places to visit and restaurants with authentic and cheap food were perfect.

Dar Settash is a charming Riad, beautifully restored and super well located in the Fes Medina. The people who run it are very friendly and helpful with anything you may need. Especially the cooking class on the rooftop was an unforgetable experience. Very comfortable and cosy atmosphere and delicious breakfast. I would come here again!

“Best Rooftop Terrance & Unbeatable Hospitality”

My stay at Dar Settash far exceeded my expectations. The location is perfect, just on the outer edge of the upper Medina, very easy for car transport and navigating the Medina. The building and rooms are immaculately clean and very well maintained. The staff at Dar Settash are incredibly hospitable, kind and helpful. As a solo traveler, they went above and beyond to assist with planning my days, recommendations for places to visit and eat and sharing so much about Moroccan culture. The meals served at Dar Settash are wildly delicious and the rootop terrace is unbeatable at sunrise/sunset accompanied by the call to prayer and delicious Moroccan tea. My trip to Fes was incredible, a huge thank you to the team at Dar Settash for all of your assistance and for treating me like family.

“Staff were very friendly & helpful and the room was perfect”

Upon arriving, we were welcomed and invited to have mint tea with biscuits. The staff treated us like family and provided lots of travel advice. The principal staff understood English well, and his advice on using Maps Me app rather than Google Maps was so helpful for walking around the medina. Location was excellent, with Dar Settash located in an alley just off the central street in the medina. The room itself was very large with all amenities included, even a kitchenette for you to make tea/coffee within the comfort of your room. The included breakfast (choice of tea & coffee, honey, honey butter, jam, khobz, msemen, baghrir) was delicious and very filling. The terrace provided an excellent view of the medina from above. Words cannot describe how beautiful the interior of this home is, I’d highly recommend a stay here
