“A lovely hotel in a perfect location for exploring Menorca”

A lovely stay at the Loar Ferreries. We've visited Menorca many times, usually as backpackers walking the Cami de Cavalls, but this time we wanted to explore the towns. The Loar is a five minute walk from the frequent number 1 Ciutadella- Mao bus stop (pay on bus), where you can also get a bus to the beach at Cala Galdana (and other places - the TIB buses are superb) in the summer months. It's a cool, calm spacious hotel and the buffet breakfasts are plentiful and quiet - no holiday "scrum" as our friends call it. Our room was very large, with a small balcony. The restaurant food is good too and the female waiting staff delightful. There's also outside seating on the road. Great views from the roof top (swimming pool and jacuzzi too). You can hire pool and beach towels. There's a excellent C20 art gallery at Alaior, (Bacon, El Paso, Miro etc) on the bus route, and we recommend Olga's restaurant at Es Mercadal (take the bus!) and Rias Baixas and Perbacco in Ferreries, both short walks away. A perfect stay on this lovely island.

I wanted to see locations in the middle of the Island. Loar Ferreries is a very good hotel to view these locationis. Moreover they had a booklet that gave me some suggestions. They have two swimming pools and a jacuzzi; outdoor is on the roof; indoor is near the restaurant; this you would not expect of a hotel in the city center, but is was very nice.

Traditional hotel with attentive service. I stayed a night longer than planned because I liked it so much and they reorganized bookings so I could stay in the same room. It was a very spacious one overlooking the beautiful square with a nice view of the white houses lining the ascending hills. The view from the rooftop pool and jacuzzi is even better - 360 degrees of the village. Pool towels can be obtained with a deposit. The square can be quite lively on weekend nights and there is a bit of garbage collection noise in the morning - apart from that it’s absolutely peaceful, no traffic at night. Room service was daily and immaculate The bed was comfy and the bathroom very big with shower and bathtub. In very good condition. Acces to we’ll functioning washing machine and tumbler. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety with Menorcan cheese and spanish tortilla. There’s not much of an option for vegans, however. Quality is good for the price. Public transport is good to Ciutadella and Mahon, also ok to the nearest beach. Other destinations can be complicated. I highly recommend the short hike (25 Minutes) up to the close by s’Ermita (with good shoes) for sunset. But make sure to head back before dark or use a flashlight.

“Perfectly located getaway”

Such a great experience at Hotel Loar. I came solo and really really enjoyed the experience here! Perfectly located, just 10 minutes by bus to cala galdana and the beautiful surrounding beaches. Great staff, and great overall vibe. Rooftop pool is lovely too :)

We were staying in the suite, the room was big but nothing special. The hotel is clean and the personnel is nice. Also the swimming pool and the Jacuzzi are very enjoyable. The hotel is very close to bus station and all the services. The hotel restaurant is really good quality/price.

roof top pool was a great bonus and especially welcome in 34c heat. location was great in the main square. Balcony was good overlooking the square.

Great place and very comfy stay. The rooms are super dark for a good night's sleep. Great centralized location and easy to find. Parking can be challenging, but the rooms are just perfect!! I love the bathrooms as well, very new and clean.

The hotel had a nice local feel, as the bar and breakfast area was also used by local people. The pool on the roof looked nice, although unfortunately it was too cold when we were there to make use of it. Which was why we really appreciated the nice warm bedroom!
