Very good place to stay for 1-2 nights. Room was nice and clean. Very nice and quiet location, just some hundreds meters from the ferry to Fårö.

A few kilometres to Fårösund ferry. Easy access and parking. A basic room, beds ok. A sport center with indoor pool a few steps away.

The place is located in a very quiet area close to the water, perfect for short walks. There are tables outside the building so the guests can eat, play games or just hang out without being bothered by anything and anyone. The room was good too, comfy beds and new furnitures. The kitchen has everything you might need to prepare your food.

I likes pretty much everything about the place - it was my third visit. Very high standard for a vandrarhem. Price rather high too, but reasonable value for money.

Nice common areas (including kitchen and outside tables) and nice staff in a very quiet area not too far from the ferry and the town's centre (for a reasonable price).

“A Great Midsummer Stay”

Near hotel standard, including ensuite shower/WC and freshly renovated rooms. Near hotel prices too, when you consider the 150 Skr extra for towels and sheets (or bring your own). There is no staff on-site but they look by regularly, and the Swedes are excellent at self-organisation. The well equipped kitchen remained spotless throughout my eight day stay, in spite of several families cooking there regularly. It would scarcely work in any other country. The location is at first a bit off-putting, a former large military camp with lots of unused buildings and spaces. But I grew to like the calm, the open spaces, a partial view of the sea. There is a hidden bathing place (and sauna!) left over by the military, about five minutes walk from the Wandrerhem, outwardly not very attractive but the water is lovely. Food? Cook your own! There is a nearby ICA shop which sells everything from rubber boots to mangos and lobster. It seems to be always open, seven days a week in summer. (But wine needs to be ordered in advance!) There are numerous snack bars too but my experience of eating out in Sweden has largely been dismal: it is not just the poor quality of the cooking, but an almost complete lack of service. The Swedes do not seem to care. As an early riser, my day started every morning with a self-cooked al fresco breakfast in the morning sun, watching the hares at play. You could do a BBQ, the equipment is there, if you could get some fellow-guests organised. They were surprised that I was staying eight nights - but why not? There is quiet and calm galore, wonderful landscapes, quite different from mainland Sweden, There is great cycling on the adjacent island of Farö (seven minute crossing, free for cars too) or on the Gotland mainland. Regular bus to lovely Visby - if appropriate, ask for the special pensioners' fare of 30 crowns. I was sorry to leave - which is about the best recommendation.

Reasonable price level. Close to ferryport to Fårö island. Clean rooms with everything needed for a short stay.

The room is clean, shared kitchen and laundry room are both clean. The hotel is sound proofing, it is quiet during night. It is nice to have dinner sitting on the deck outside.
