“Beautiful bungalow on a remote island.”
The bungalow was very nice, especially the soft furnishings, with a good view from the outside deck. Clarisse (the owner) was helpful despite my limited French ! and joined me for home-cooked dinners, featuring fresh fish - this was a half-board package with ample breakfasts as well. She also accompanied me for a picnic on the motu opposite. Raivavae itself is mostly unspoiled with a couple of scenic hikes - if the weather plays along !

I can not recommend. I asked if I could be picked up at the airport what was confirmed. But after my arrival no one was at the airport. I tried to call, but the phone number was not available (I did not know at this time that it is a whatsapp number only). So I went by taxi, I thought it could not be that hard to find the place. After 1 h searching it turned out, that first the google adress is wrong, second even the adress on booking.com is not exact and third, the Bungalow is at the same adress as three different Bungalows on booking.com and name on the sign on the road is Manaeva lodge. I went in there, because they claim to have a 24/7 reception with someone there. But no one was, I shouted several times, but no one answered. Of course I tried to text on booking.com. Never got an answer. The only option I had, as all other places where booked and it was past 12 o‘clock at night to go back to the airport and spend the rest of the night there, which was really aweful without sleep after 22h flight. I definitely do not recommend, this has never happened to me before.

The bungalow was immaculately clean with a well stocked kitchen and very comfortable bed. The hostess, Reva, was friendly and helpful providing a ride to the airport for us as well as a full plate of fresh bananas!
