We loved the quirkiness of the design for each room and that they were based on different detectives. And the design theme for the whole hotel, the toilet hidden in a wardrobe etc. The bed was great, I had a king size bed. The breakfast was really great too and we were able to store our bikes in a secure location at the back of the hotel.

The location of hotel was very nice, easily accessible to the beach area. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. The receptionist is a kind lady and very welcoming. You have a game area with a lot of board games and also table games. Giant chess, mini pool board etc.

Great quirky place to stay. A real passion project which is also a great hotel. Good value and a really good breakfast.

“Gorgeously stylish hotel, totally recommended”

The hotel is very stylish. Normally I don't pay much attention to these things, for me comfort is important and any decorative things don't really affect my impressions. But in this case, the interior is built sooo carefully and thoroughly in the style of Arsen Lupin and his time, that it looks and feels really great. At the same time, although the interior is decorated as old and oldish, everything is really clean and neat. There is a little bit of smell of an old house, but not intensive, it doesn't annoy at all. Note that there is no lift, and the concierge is a woman, so don't stay there if you have a luggage to heavy for you (not our case). The breakfast is not that plentiful, but pretty decent. And the price is absolutely reasonable. The hotel is located on a pretty busy street (busy for such a small city as Etretat), there can be noises from the outside in the morning, but not too much. The hotel is located in the city center, very close to all major interesting places. It is great that windows can be opened, but I didn't find an AC there, so I don't know if it is ok in summer. It didn't consider our stay, since in late April the t is comfortable. There is no parking directly in the hotel, but the hotel communicates it via Booking messages in advance and suggests to unload and park in 400 meters. I strongly advise arriving in late afternoon or in the evening, because in the midday Etretat is totally full of tourist cars, even all paid parkings are full. That said, I totally advise staying in this hotel (unless you need an elevator for luggage and unless you think that you need an AC), it was a really pleasant experienc.e

“Perfect stay at the Detective Hotel !”

Very good breakfast, excellent location (walking distance to the famous Cliffs of Etretat) The staff was amazing and helpful. The coffee and tea area is really nice, with lots of good boardgames. The room and hotel were well decorated too.

We stayed there for 1 night and it was really great. It was very clean and the staff were really nice and friendly. Their breakfast was on spot. We really liked the fact that they have a free coffee service. The location was the best, very central and it was close everywhere, to the bus stop, to the beach and there is a Carrefour nearby. Their decorations also are truly amazing :)

Unusual concept, owners obviously made a great job arranging the design. Liked a lot common living room/bar- chess, cross cross, other games and intellectual entertainment.

This place blew our minds. If you also dislike the monotone hotels, come and stay here. Full of surprises, fun, great service, Every corner has an interesting bit, the beds were comfy and the staff amazing. We would have loved to stay longer.

Original style of decoration. We loved it. I like their idea of putting a turntable in the room! The mattress was very comfortable. The staff was very polite and welcoming :)
