“Peaceful spot with friendly cows”

We stayed four nights as a family of four. The chalet is simply furnished and located just on the outskirts of the small town. The public swimming pool had alas closed the day before in preparation for the return to school. There are a number of other wild swimming spots a short drive away. This is deep France. The local population, and your neighbours if staying, are cows. There are a few restaurants and shops in Etang, otherwise head into Autun for a wider selection of places to eat and such. Overall this was a very relaxing place to stay with wonderful night skies. The coffee maker provided is the Senseo system so do bear that in mind. The only other negative was the quality of the pillows provided but France, despite my love for it, has never really appreciated the comfort and pleasure of abundant, fluffy pillows! Bah.

The hosts have done up 2 old chalets previously owned by the Commune (town/village). Lots of effort put into it, and to good effect. It's well-equipped, beds ok, bathroom and shower excellent. Quiet location facing fields, with (a decaying) picnic table, and a veranda with chairs and table (for 2) for a restful evening outside, watching cows and wildlife. A quiet small village with some facilities - and a Pizza distributor, if all else fails!

Compact accommodation in very quiet and peaceful location. Entire unit was on the ground floor, something we very much appreciate. Hosts super and friendly and very welcoming. They were keen to make our stay a pleasant one. The cabin was lovely.
