The domain was just wonderful and everything felt just in place. You’ll experience a great sense of tranquility and the host and his family are so nice! The food was amazing and he gave some very good recommendations to visit in Nicaragua. Would definitely recommend and come back!

Gilbert is an amazing host and excellent cook ;) the set up in the garden is beautiful and we wished we could have spend more time than 1 night!

Gilbert (host) and his wife (Reina) are amazing hosts. His cooking is off-the-charts amazing. DO NOT BOTHER going into town for dinner, or even for groceries to cook. Just grab your drinks of choice and sit out on the deck listening to the stream & birds, and watching the butterflies while you enjoy tremendous meals. Pop down to the swimming hole for a refreshing dip and enjoy everything this place has to offer.

The location is very quiet, beautifull and you get a close connection to nature. The hosts (Gilbert as well as his wife) were amazingly attentive, gracious and very welcoming. We definitely will return one day.

We happened upon Gilbert’s beautiful home by accident. We had originally expected to stay in Esterli but all decent hotels were full due to a convention.. SERENDIPITY !! because this place is awesome . First and foremost the whole place is so tranquil .. a real slice of country paradise.. with a little river running through it .. then let’s just move on to the beautiful design of his home and guest accommodation.. It has been designed by someone with no formal training just an eye for detail and tremendous skill.. loads of naturally resourced wood carved by local artisans , makes this temporary home so fabulous. It’s just beautiful. A lovely comfortable big double bed , air con if you need it (we didn’t even need a fan as the situation in the forest is so cool - not just temperature wise ! .. add to that a magnificent hot tub in the bathroom.. be patient.. turn it in when you arrive it takes a few hours but is fhe only bath I’ve had in Nica in a month and was wonderful.. Last but by NO MEANS least .. in fact probably above all else is Gilbert’s food. PLEASE don’t waste money in restaurants because I promise you that nothing will compare to what Gilbert can produce from the natural ingredients surrounding his home .. we have travelled throughout NICA for a month .. we are lucky enough not to be on a tight budget.. but NOTHING has compared to Gilbert’s food .. unfortunately a health condition prevents me from eating 10- 12 mouthfuls .. normally I’m happy as this keeps my weight good .. this time it made me wish so much I could eat more ..

It is a wonderful hidden place in the middle of nature. Gilbert was the perfect host. Although there isn’t a pool or sea close by, also our children found it the best place we visited so far in Nicaragua. It’s a quiet and comfortable location and Gilbert prepares excellent food for the complete family. His neighbour, a farmer, is also very willing to take you on a trip around the area. I would recommend this country house to everyone.

We had a great stay! The room was nice, with jacuzzi. Gilbert is such a nice man, he made us feel at home and even is a good chef! So if you're not want to drive to the centre of Esteli he can cook you a very good meal. The area is beautiful and slightly cooler then te rest of Nicaragua. When we come back one day, we will definitely stay at Gilbert's place again and bring stroopwafels, or maple syrup ;)

This property is hidden gem of the north of Nicaragua! We loved the peace and tranquillity of the suite, and the climate is perfect. Great views of the nearby mountain too. The host went out of his way to make our stay comfortable, enjoyable, and was a pleasure to make his acquaintance! He cooked us delicious, healthy, and wonderful food for our stay. I can’t recommend his cooking highly enough.
