The place has nice interior design and vibe. I generally dislike the food in CA but did like the traditional and free breakfast and would not miss it. I found most of the complains of the other reviewers overblown, I came with low expectations but found little to dislike. The kitchen is functional. The location is directly in the city. I had a room on my own as they seem to have overcapacity with about 20-30 beds. I even would have extended but there is little to do in Esteli and I had already booked the next accommodations. I would return. Esteli has at least a cooler climate than the coast and mosquitoes are less of an issue.

I booked this hostel because I saw reviews saying that they can help you organize activities but it's not true anymore! They stopped doing that a few years ago, Treehugger doesn't exist anymore. When I asked the lady about the activities available she was very unhelpful. I had to wait more than 90 min for breakfast. Very noisy. Only one fan for the whole room. The weakest shower pressure I ever saw.

Lovely hostel in the centre. Comfy beds. Proximity to great coffee and a good cafe just across the road. Good base if you are going for hikes to places such as Reserva Miraflor etc. really clean bedsheets. Impressive.

Almost everything wes nice, the lady who works here was friendly, the bed was clean, and on top of that there is a nice area for coffee and doing laundry.

“Basic backpacker hostel”

Good location in Estelí. You can book all your tours (Somoto canyon, coffee tours etc.) through the hostel. Dorms are basic, but have all you need. Good wifi, shared kitchen and hammocks to relax. Only hostel in Estelí. Recommended for backpackers

“Nice stay”

The staff was very helpful, has a lot of knowledge regarding Estelí, cigar factories and surrounding areas. May give you a lot of recommendations and help arrange tours or guides. We recommend the cigar tour done by one of the people from the hostel, which was a very good experience. My Spanish capabilities are very limited, but the guide spoke slowly and simply so that I could understand everything, which is truly appreciated.

Cool place for backpackers in Esteli. The hostel is cute and dorms and bathrooms are clean. Part of the hostel is the treehuggers travel agency through which you can book tours to Somoto Canyon, Miraflor and more. The staff is incredibly helpful and goes out of their way to help you.

Nothing

The staff is never there. Also we booked a trip and due to their fault (they told us there are buses but they weren't any) we lost the whole day. No discount, they didn't feel resposible for that. Some places of the rooms are very loud due to pubs behind the walls or cars on the streets. The bathroom was dirty, full of dust.
