Overview
Located in the Old Mogador, on the edge of the Atlantic, the Lyon-Mogador offers a peaceful setting in the heart of the medina in the magical city of Essaouira. This charming 18th century riad is organised on 4 levels and offers authentically decorated. Rooms come fully equipped with en suite facilities. A special breakfast is served each morning on the terrace composed of local and international products. The riad features Table d'hôte meals upon request at least 24h in advance (except Tuesdays). The Lyon-Mogador has been completely renovated in a traditional Moroccan style. The creative artisans used traditional techniques to restore its original charm.

“Beautiful riad in a great location”
A beautifully decorated, comfortable and friendly hotel in a great location. Bedroom was very well designed and I loved the four poster bed. Breakfast on the terrace was lovely and it was incredibly clean.

“High recommend this Riad”
Highly recommend this Riad. Great pre-trip communication e.g., directions and how to get a porter through the Medina. A friendly welcome and easy check-in process. The whole place was spotless - someone takes great care of the Riad - decor is natural, understated and elegant. Lovely soaps and shampoos provided. The rooms were quiet and beds very comfortable. We had the family suite and could spread out in separate rooms. The view from the rooftop is wonderful and breakfast is abundant with fruit salad, fresh orange juice, omlets, various breads + spreads and coffee/mint tea. Reception helped orient us with maps and recommendations. And stored our luggage for the day after we checked out.

We had an absolutely lovely stay at Riad Lyon-Mogador! From the moment we arrived the staff were amazing and super helpful giving us all the local recommendations and making us feel very welcomed! The rooms were lovely and the breakfast on the balcony was such a treat! The location is fab too! Couldn’t recommend more to anyone visiting Essaouira!

“Our stay was enjoyable and comfortable!”
Staff were very warm and helpful. The location was great. We stayed in a suite which was a lot smaller than expected with no space to relax. Lovely decor and to have breakfast on the rooftop was lovely.

“Amazing experience”
Saeed was incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived. He explained the area to us, gave us great recommendations, and was genuinely such a nice person. The attention to detail of the place was impressive , everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged, which made our stay even better.

“Best place I've ever stayed”
Staff really friendly. Idris explained everything I needed to know about Essaouira. The room was clean and comfortable and had everything I needed. The bed was good and larger than a standard single bed. Water bottle in the room which was refilled each day. The sun terrace on the roof was great. Breakfast was good and had different things each day. Great location in the middle of the medina.
