“Best nakasendo start we could hope for...”
This was an excellent stay. The old renovated cottage was charming, the grounds were nice and the staff couldnt have been more helpful or charming.

The staff were lovely and very helpful. The meals were amazing, like Michelin star standard. The onsen facilities were excellent too.

The location is on top of a small hill which overlooks the river and has a very nice view. it is a a slight distance away from the town , but taxi service is also avaliable. Liked the breakfast which serves the local food (not the usual continental breakfast) and good selection of food. The onsen facilities are also good. The rooms are using mechanical keys not keycard so larger groups staying have only 2 keys to split among themselves.

Very spacious room. Great room of the river. It was a good jump point to get to Kiso Valley. Dinner was great. Breakfast is good as well.

“Great size hotelrooms and best onsen so far”
We liked size of the room a lot. Most Japanse hotel rooms are very small but this one was huge. At last some space to put your things and walk around still. Also the view from the room over the lake was really nice. And the onsen was great with a bath outdoor and three baths indoor as well.
