Winwood is a very quiet place, immersed in nature, a real hidden gem run by a very hospitable family. The room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable and the view from the room was absolutely amazing. The breakfast was another highlight of Winwood, delicious, homemade and different each day. I'd recommend Winwood without any doubts.

It’s very close to the Main Street of Ella, so everything is in a walking distance. It’s a proper cabin style room, all good.

The stay felt like staying in jungle and the architecture of the rooms and bathrooms were really unique made of wood. The host was very nice and helpful.

We had a great time at Winwood Ella. My wife and I stayed for five nights with our little baby boy and we absolutely loved our time there. The hosts are so polite and helpful, giving us useful tips for things to do around Ella or on what are reasonable tuktuk prices. We had the big room with two beds and is it was just perfect for us. It was very clean and comfy. The breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious. Each morning we got to taste something new and everything tasted great. The place is within walking distance of the town, just follow the train tracks and you're there in a few minutes We can absolutely recommend Winwood Ella to anyone staying in this beautiful town, you won't find kinder hosts anywhere.

Had a lovely stay here. The room was beautiful with a charming wooden style and everything was very clean and well maintained. The location is excellent and very convenient, though be prepared for a short walk up a fairly steep hill to reach the property. The breakfast was also lovely and a great start to the day. What really made the difference, however, was the hospitality of the owner. They made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay, which added such a personal touch to the experience. Would happily stay again!

“Tranquil stay in the trees”

The property is very peaceful in amongst the trees and provides a lovely opportunity to spot the various birds and squirrels that come visit. It’s really nice that the breakfast is served on your own private balcony and the hosts are incredibly kind. No request was too much. They helped me organise my laundry to be done and arranged transport in the area for me when needed. I will definitely visit again!

Bigger rooms & unique blend of room interiors with all wood

The accommodation is clean and well maintained and gets cleaned throughout your stay. The hosts are such caring and lovely people who do everything to make sure you have a good stay. They explained all the different routes and shortcuts in Ella. We had our breakfast on our terrace and they offered a variety of Sri Lankan food, fruit platters and really generous portions overall. The location of the property is also perfect.

We loved the design of the house with very intricate woodwork and the friendliness and warmth of the hosts who genuinely cared for us and made us feel at home. The breakfast on the balcony with homemade food was fantastic.

The owners were incredibly hospitable. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast on the terrace, and afterward the owner drove us to the south coast. During the drive, he showed us some very beautiful and interesting places. We would visit them again in a heartbeat. Thanks a lot!

It was a super cool stay! What friendly people. Dad and his daughter did a great job. They helped us with everything. The accommodation was perfectly located, a 3-minute walk from the center. It was very clean and the breakfast was delicious. We slept very well here. Dad even took us to another place because we didn't have transportation.
