Being in the quiet in the tree tops literally A lovely warm welcome and helped with transport..... Wonderful experience

Treetops Ella is a bit out of town. But that’s a good thing, for two reasons: Ella is BUSY. You don’t want to be right in town (or at least I don’t). You want to visit, sure, but you want the rest of your time to be peaceful. The other thing is, by being just a little out of town you get to be pretty much in the jungle. You will sit and eat your breakfast (more of that in a minute) listening to wildlife (it’s loud, but deeply relaxing) and being surrounded by deep greenery. In any case you can still walk into town if you want (i usually did) and then take a tuk tuk back (1000 rupees - about £2.50). No problem. The guest house itself - I loved it. Clean, comfortable and, as I’ve said, peaceful. Everything you might want is in the room for you - a mini bar, a kettle with tea bags etc, bottled water and even a yoga mat. The owners were lovely - perfectly friendly without being intrusive. And then there was the breakfast…. Every day it was gorgeous. Photo-worthy even. And different Sri Lankan specialties every day. It was plentiful too - I never had a lunch in Ella! It was, at the time of writing, my favourite stay in Sri Lanka.

Treetops Ella has the friendliest host and the most amazing location! The breakfast was 10/10 and the best we had in Sri Lanka. Our host was very helpful in organising taxis and a safari trip for us. The mini bar was well stocked and well priced. Overall, we loved the charm of the place and would 100% stay again. The room is exceptionally well priced.

Very nice location. A tuk tuk drive is needed for going to city but all others are walkable. Best breakfast with all what you want.

The room was very nice and clean, equipped with everything we needed. The staff were incredibly kind to us; they welcomed us with a hot tea and also prepared a delicious breakfast.

The hosts are absolutely lovely, going above and beyond in order to making your stay enjoyable. This included preparing sandwiches for us at 3:30am (!) because we had to leave very early for a safari at Yala. The Sri Lankan breakfast was extraordinary😊

The hosts were wonderful, so warm and responsive and always looked out for me which was nice when I was travelling solo. The room is the only one there and totally private. You step onto the terrace and the views of the hills are stunning and at night the private garden is all lit up. Enchanting with a magical vibe and the breakfast excellent value and beautifully presented. Nothing was too much trouble and they put me in touch with a trusted tuk tuk driver. Ella main town was only ,8-10 minutes by tuk tuk. I would definitely stay at Treetops again!!

As you may know already, Ella is a very touristy place. We didn't book anything in advance, so we were finding it difficult to find some good quality-price location to stay. But then we found Tree Tops. What an amazing place. We were so warmly received and we felt like we were at home. The room is very clean, with a comfortable bed, good bathroom with hot water and a mini fridge. You could notice that every detail in the room was carefully picked. And, of course, as a foodie, the best part for me was the Sri Lankan breakfast - different in the two days, but both with typical Sri Lankan food, prepared with love and care. At night, you can hear an animal orchestra from the room, so you really feel connected to nature. If you are overwhelmed with all the options in Ella and want a place to relax and feel at home, just a tuktuk drive away from all the activities, just go there. Thank you so much for receiving us like this, we will never forget these 2 days here.

“Excellent accommodation”

I stayed in this little oasis for 2 nights and absolutely enjoyed my time here. It‘s a bit outside of busy Ella which I personally liked a lot. The accommodation is in a small village and the room is surrounded by plants and trees. It is a very cozy atmosphere here. I had a warm and kind welcome from the hosts, they made my stay a very pleasant one. The room was clean and was decorated in a quite nice way. The breakfast on the terrace was very good. In total, I can recommend Treetops Ella and would definitely go here again.

The service was outstanding! The host arranged everything from tuk tuk rides to early morning drop off to the train station. Bit further from Ella center but for 800-1000 lrk your there.

Very pleasant and helpful owners. Clean room and excellent breakfast. The position of the property is fantastic overlooking a tea plantation. Sit on the balcony and watch small parrots fly by with a variety of other birds and wildlife. Highly recommended.

2 wonderful days were among nature, wild peacocks, different birds. All you need is at home. Breakfast was traditional and excellent. We like everything. The staff was very polite and friendly. Thank youq

Beautiful setting down a track in the jungle. Only one room for guests so peaceful and in a way exclusive. Our hostess couldn’t do enough for us, and the room was carefully prepared with lots of nice touches ( mosi spray, torches, Bluetooth speaker, yoga mats ) Delicious breakfasts too.
