An absolutely unforgettable stay! The breakfast was amazing every morning — fresh, delicious, and prepared with great care. The views were honestly some of the best I’ve ever seen in my life, overlooking the beautiful jungle and creating a true paradise atmosphere. Waking up surrounded by nature, listening to the sounds of the jungle, and enjoying such breathtaking scenery made this experience truly special. The accommodation was peaceful, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing and reconnecting with nature. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and magical getaway!

Kamal is very welcoming and friendly. Good advice, super service carrying the suitcase . The environment is very nice , with a view to the garden , palm trees , hills and with a lot of plants and flowers. The proximity to the nine bridges and waterfall is really an asset as well to go walking to the city center . The room is really well equipped and super clean . Bed is comfortable

“Lovely local stay”

Familiar property in the middle of the nature, peaceful with enormous windows. The host was helpful and the breakfast was homy and tasteful.

A special place with a fantastic terrace and views to unwind for a few days. Kamal is on hand to help with anything. We had a delicious breakfast every day and even attended a really fun cooking class next door which is run by his sister and mother. There are a number of uneven steps up to the property but they are worth the effort!

“Cozy, quiet, serene”

Kamal was so nice and attentive. He asked us about our days and have advice for planning what to do in Ella. He even offered his own tuktuk service. The Western style breakfast was great. The floors and bathroom were really clean. The view from the balcony was nice, lovely to drink tea and watch the birds. The location is nice, a 2-minute walk to restaurants and 10-minute into the main strip of bars, while the lodge was perched on a hill keeping it quiet at night. I definitely recommend staying here.

Beautiful location, in a quiet spot away from the busy high street but super easy to walk to everything. Surrounded by nature. Really comfy big bed. Amazing breakfast. Host was very friendly and helpful- helped organise airport transfer and gave some great recommendations of things to do

Beautiful view, gorgeous rooms, awesome breakfast and great hosts. An easy walk to 9 arches bridge, Little Adam’s peak, Ella rock and into town. A short walk to “The Green Door” restuarant which is amazing!!!

Great property with very nice view, you feel like you’re in the jungle. The location is super, 20min walk from Ella’s town and really close to Little Adam’s Peak. We wanted to be somewhere more chill and quiet and not in the town, so it was the perfect choice. Amazing breakfast and coffee, you get to choose between European style and Sri Lankan style. You could hear the birds and all the nature’s sounds, while taking your breakfast. Kamal was a great host, really friendly and always happy to help us find out what to do and which is the best way to do it. We would highly recommend it to everyone and if we visit Ella again we will definitely go there again.

Kamal and his wife have been very lovely hosts. The room was very clean, you can feel the dedication of the owner. It is perfectly located on a hill away from the crowds with an stunning view. We definitely come back.

The Spice Lodge is in a beautiful location. Up on the side of a hill looking over the valley and mountains. It is located near the base of the track to Little Adams Peak which is handy but the Lodge is very quiet with a pretty garden. The owner designed it himself. It is very creatively decorated and extremely comfortable with a private patio for your breakfast and just relaxing. The breakfasts are delicious. There is a tea/coffee station and bar fridge in the room for convenience. The owner’s mother and sister live next door and offer an excellent hands-on cooking class which you get to enjoy eating afterwards. This is a stunning place to stay and we were sad to leave. Thank you.

The host Kamal was so friendly and helpfull. He gave us advice about the activities we could do around Ella, was always available, gave us a ride to the tea factory and even helped us planning our next stop in Sri Lanka. We also took a cooking class with Kamals mother and sister and this was a great experience. They were really nice, we felt so welcome and the food we cooked was delicious. The room was nice and clean with a big bed. The view from the room is amazing.

The property was very well located for Little Adam’s Peak and the Nine Arches bridge, just a little way out of the main street of Ella (but an easy walk, and really peaceful). Kamal was so accommodating and kind. We really enjoyed our stay.

We contacted Kamal the day before, he arranged a driver who was amazing! Kamal was waiting for us to help with luggage. The rooms are big and has everything you need fridge, tea and coffee and so on! The breakfast is amazing we tried both local and western! Kamal always made sure we had tea and coffee and offered more food! He drove and collected us to the tea factory! The cooking class is done by his mother and sister and the experience was amazing! Highly recommend & we will be back.
