Great homestay, short walk (but lots of steps) to get to train track to walk into town. Good, filling variety of breakfasts. Lovely views, lovely family. We loved Ella.

Sunray homestay offers a superb location. While being seven minutes walk from the center of Ella, it offers fabulous views of Ella Rick, Adam peak and to top it all the Koda Rawana waterfalls. This is the only sound you hear when it doesn’t rain. On top of this great location the room was well equipped and breakfast was good and different every day (we stayed for four nights) giving a taste of Sri Lankan food but meeting the sensitive European needs. And the hospitality topped it all with guidance and with helpful tips and transportation. The best of all worlds.

Friendly family run house with amazing views of the waterfalls and Ella Rock. Lovely terrace to have drinks or breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, they were amazing with lots of variety and tasted delicious.

Incredible views, great breakfast (changed every day), very helpful hosts, beautiful room with a private balcony. They also recommended a great cooking class that was the highlight of our time in Ella with Taste of Ceylon.

the rooms are very cheap, so I can't say a bad word. there was a great view from the balcony, always was a breakfast served specially for us, but I think in these rooms are a lot of things to improve. we did not have AC (but it is not as neccessary as we can think, because in Ella the temperature is usually lower than in the other parts of the island. The main thing to improve are the bathrooms. The water pressure is tragic and I think this has to be improved. other things are acceptable. mosquito net is a big advantage in the room.

Very nice room on top of the building all in wood. The shower had doors, what I appreciated. The breakfast was delicious with Sri Lankan and Western foods and it was a lot. The family was great and very helpful. The owner took us to a cooking class which I recommend and even to the train station. Within 10 Minutes you are in town and it’s quit during night. The view is awesome straight to Ella’s Rock and a beautiful waterfall.

Fantastic homestay set amongst the mountains with balconies overlooking Ella Rock and Little Adam's Peak! The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and well presented. The family there are absolutely wonderful people and the service is outstanding! Not to mention, breakfast was sensational - the lentil curry hoppers and jaffles are unmatched! By far, our favourite stay in Sri Lanka.

Convenient location with picturesque surroundings. You get a 180 degree view of Ella rock, one of the waterfalls and the rail track in the mountains which feels like dreamy.

We loved Sunray, an amazing place to appreciate Ella’s natural beauty! The family run homestay was fantastic, and they were so accommodating to all our needs, breakfast was incredible and varied between days, we wish we stayed longer.
