Really peaceful place, close to the center and the staff was adorable with us :)

Location perfect for little adams peak and 9 arches bridge within walking distance. Mr Roti and other restaurants across the road good food. Our host did a cooking class which was fabulous. The room had a veranda where we ate breakfast and generally relaxed. It was clean spacious and comfortable. Thank you for having us! Wee climb up the steps to secret nest

The family were so lovely and friendly. They made amazing breakfasts for us, including eggs, rotti, fresh fruit, tea/coffee, pancakes, string hoppers, etc, nothing was too much to ask for. When i said i loved dhal, they made it for breakfast the next day. They gave us advice on activities and hikes to do nearby too, and they arranged our transport from Ella > Kandy at a good price (we saw wild elephants on the drive!!!) They also do a cooking class that looks amazing, sadly we didnt do it as we already had another booked. The room was clean and comfortable. No AC but wasnt needed as the house is sheltered from the sun and was quite cool in the evening anyway. A fan is included but we didnt use it. Powerful hot shower and fridge in the room. Location was great, 20mins walk from town centre and up in the hills, the walk isnt bad as its a steady incline. It is so peaceful. There are a set of steep steps up from the road which were fine for us but maybe difficult for others. Overall if we return to Ella we would definitely stay here again. The price is also so good!!

“Great place to stay with lovely family”

A friend recommended to stay here and we were not disappointed. Neranji and family are very friendly and welcoming, they also make delicious breakfast and tea! I enjoyed drinking tea on the terrace and watching birds and squirrels in the trees.The cooking lesson was great and a must if you're staying there. The location is nice, it is more quiet and peaceful but still walking distance to town and Little Adam's Peak and Nine Arch Bridge.

Great Place to stay close to Little Adams Peak and Nine Arch Bridge. Neranji and her husband are excellent hosts and took good care of us. The breakfast was delicious, as was the food we cooked during our cooking class by Neranji.

“Hidden Gem”

We are currently 2 nights into a 3 night stay and WOW..... What a hidden gem. . So peaceful tucked away but close enough that you can walk to everything. Our room was spotlessly clean, hot water, fridge and good wifi. Fan room only but aircon not required. So nice to have a blanket on the bed not just a sheet. Lovely outdoor area to relax and love there are only 2 rooms. Naranji is the most genuine exceptional host who cooks the most incredible breakfast. This breakfast would be the best on our entire Sri Lanka stay. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

I stayed here for 2 nights and had such a lovely experience. The host lives upstairs with her family and rents out two rooms downstairs, which makes the stay feel very personal and welcoming. She is incredibly kind, helpful, and genuinely caring. The breakfast was amazing — fresh, delicious, and made with so much care. She also offers cooking lessons, and the food we made (and ate!) was absolutely spectacular. It was one of the highlights of my stay. They can also help arrange transportation and even do your laundry, which made everything so easy and stress-free. I highly recommend staying here if you want somewhere warm, authentic, and well looked after. Truly a wonderful experience!

“Amazing stay!!”

This was the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka so far. Naranji and her family are so so welcoming and kind. The home stay is tucked up a hill and surrounded by a beautiful garden, a peaceful escape from the bustle of Ella but only about 10 minutes from the centre. We loved the home cooked breakfasts on the terrace. The cooking class was so so wonderful and the kitchen overlooks the beautiful hills around Ella as the sun sets. The Sri Lankan curry and rice was the best we’ve ever had. Naranji has such a passion for Sri Lankan food and takes great care over her cooking and you feel that when you are in her lesson or eat one of her meals. I immediately recommended this to my friends coming in a few weeks and I really recommend to anyone looking for an insight into Sri Lankan culture and a welcoming home from home. We left with cinnamon sticks gifted from her garden, Sri Lankan spices from the cooking class and very full hearts! Thank you Naranji and family!

“Special and very relaxing”

Every thing was clean and very well maintained . The owners are extremely kind and special people . They will give you a great insight into Sri Lankan life and culture . Neranji’s cooking class was also amazing.

Nice homestay in calm garden environment. A few steps up from the street. Warm hospitality. Tasty breakfast. Fridge in deluxe room. Hostess Neranji’s Cookery Lesson highly recommended. Walking distance from Little Adams Peak and Nine Arch Bridge. Our host took us by tuktuk to Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monastery and to Kombukara Waterfall.

We had the best time staying with Neranji and her family! We were welcomed into their home as if we were family. It was set in the best location as it was really quick and easy to walk to the centre of Ella, but was also set back away from the traffic on the streets. It was also so close to Little Adam’s Peak for a morning hike and near great places to eat. Her cooking class was so insightful as we were taught about all of her fresh ingredients and was shown how to make the best food we have had on our holiday in Sri Lanka! We would have stayed longer here if we could as it was the best place we stayed on our trip in Sri Lanka.

“Great value for money if you as a traveller need a sense of home😊”

Very quiet and serene. Very beautiful and green sorroundings. Ver nice facilities. Good fridge. Hot water. Very nice and helpful family. They make you feel very home and taken care of. We arranged a tuk tuk tour of the sitings in the area with the family brother. We also did cooking class for Christmas . Super nice and very tasty. Good laundry service! Always flexible with breakfast time. The owner always wanted to make sure she made us something we liked. So nice and sweet.

You need to climb 100 steps to reach the property. with luggage it is a challenge.

“Amazing people and food. Great location for 9 arch & little adams peak”

This homestay was exceptional. The service, meeting of your needs, the good-sized room with a fan. We stayed for 7 nights at the beginning of the wet season. The host Naranjito and her husband were very generous with their time and were kind and caring. The breakfasts were delicious, substantial and varied. Their location is ideal for the 9 Arch Bridge and Little Adam’s Peak, and being away from the night time noise of the town centre. They organised scooter hire for us and we had a wonderful day out at Diyaluma Falls. The absolute best was Neranji’s Cooking Class, she has a wonderful way of explaining the whole process, amazing knife skills which have to be seen to be believed, and a great way of involving you in the preparation. The terrace where you can sit out & eat is comfortable and relaxing - the Wi-Fi was great. I would wholeheartedly recommend this homestay and caring family & can only wish them well with future bookings. They deserve it for how they look after you.

“Beautiful landscape”

I was amazed at the level of service and generosity by this Homestay! The breakfast was great, managed to see my first cinnamon tree and Sri Lankan hornbill from my balcony ! A tour of the spice garden is a must !

“Great place to stay”

Great hosts and very convenient location, about 15min walk to town. Stone steps up to property a little hazardous in wet conditions and at night for people with walking difficulties but we managed well. Great breakfast and can thoroughly recommend the cooking class offered by the host, very informative and delicious meal to enjoy afterwards. Beautiful and quiet surroundings. Nothing is too much trouble for these hosts. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

“A great welcome, a comfortable stay”

The hotel's owner and her staff were just wonderful. Breakfast was plentiful, varied and delicious. The room was big and comfortable. I was able to sleep very well, even with the windows wide open. You can walk to Ella (20 min, no sidewalk). The famous bridge and Little Adam's Peak are a short, pleasant walk away.

“It’s really a secret nest! Must do!”

It felt like an oasis in the jungle, very beautiful. The nature was stunning and rustic, as if we were in the middle of a rainforest. It’s located within a 15 minute wak to the center, so is not very loud but is still reachable. Neranji is an incredible host who treats her guests with so much love and care. She also offers an incredible 2 hour cooking class that is definitely an interesting experience if you want to learn more about Sri Lankan cuisine. Afterwards, you get to enjoy the most delicious home made Sri Lankan rice and curry.

“Hidden Gem of Ella”

Everything about this place was amazing! It was far enough out of town that we weren’t affected by the night life and close enough that we could walk into town. Neranji cooks food that you say you like and always has a smile on her face. A great stay and our favourite part of Ella. And if you choose to do her cooking class you won’t be disappointed.
