“SUPER Resort, by far our favorite ❤️”

Pepper Garden Resort!!! We stayed here for 2 nights, and after visiting 6 other homestays in Sri Lanka, this was by far our favorite. The lovely couple who runs it is incredibly friendly and helpful. They can drive you into Ella city with their tuk-tuk 🛺, but it’s also within walking distance of the center 👣. It is such a peaceful place, nestled in nature with a great view of the stupa in front of the mountain. Our room was spacious and featured a real, warm shower 🚿, plus the WiFi 🛜 was excellent. We also highly recommend 'The Clay Pot' 🍽️👍, a very good restaurant just close by! Istouti🫶🏻

Lovely people, it is located outside of the touristic zone of Ella which we appreciated a lot - set in the middle of nature and tea plants

“Green and spacious accommodation not far from Ella station”

Spacious, well-equipped room with a lovely balcony surrounded by nature. We saw Giant Squirrels and so many birds. Large bathroom with excellent hot shower. Very comfortable bed. A bit outside of town, so very green and quiet, but only a short walk to the station and many restaurants. Wonderful, caring hosts who were always there for us and provided an excellent, varied breakfast every day.

A warm welcome from our lovely host Amali in this little jungle pad just outside Ella - a short cheap tuk tuk ride into central Ella. Great value for money, thank you 😊 🙏

“lovely, nature-surrounded stay with a very caring host and great local tip”

The host was extremely kind and made a real effort to ensure we had a great experience. She regularly checked if we had any special wishes for breakfast and gave us excellent tips for exploring Ella – even beyond what we had already researched. You can also easily organize transport and activities through her. The location is peaceful and surrounded by nature, with a beautiful view during breakfast. It’s about a 15-minute walk to town, including a short but steep path, which can be a bit tiring in the heat, but still manageable. The room itself was well ventilated and mostly well sealed, with a mosquito net and adjustable fans (no AC, but it cools down at night). Breakfast was good, though fairly standard compared to other places in Sri Lanka. The Wi-Fi was unfortunately very inconsistent and often not usable, so we had to rely on mobile data. However, this seems to be a more general issue we experienced in several accommodations in Sri Lanka rather than something specific to this place. Overall, a lovely and authentic stay in nature with a very caring host – definitely recommended!

“Perfect stay in nature, we loved it”

Amazing stay in the mountain The room was super comfy and clean and we had a beautiful balcony with view on the mountain and lots of wild life to observe in the morning ☺️ The person there was adorable and very helpful. She prepared us a beautiful breakfast and helped us in anything we needed A bit away from the city so very quiet but easily accessible with a Tuktuk or a bit of walking I would definitely come back there for another stay in Ella 🤎

“Spacious room with a stunning outlook”

A gorgeous stay set high in the rainforest canopy, in a peaceful spot about a 15–20 minute walk from town. The host was incredibly warm and attentive – even cooking for me one night when the rain made heading out impossible. The room was spacious with a beautiful outlook, perfect for spotting birds, giant possums and monkeys.

Pepper Garden Resort Very attentive, pleasant, helpful, discreet and always available hosts. The tuk-tuk service with Langry was excellent and very affordable. The location is well situated, quiet, with a magnificent view. Meals, whether breakfast or dinner, were delicious and very generous. Everything was perfect — thank you so much to Amali and her family.

The room has a very nice view and quiet. We liked it. The location is good not far away from the center. We rented a motorbike so it was gut. The owner is friendly and kind.

The guesthouse has a very good location, situated on a hillside with wonderful views, yet close enough to the center to walk there. We also liked the room, which was glazed, had a comfortable bed with a mosquito net, and a very nice and large terrace. The owner was very nice and helpful. We thank her very much for taking such wonderful care of us. I definitely recommend it.

Loved the quiet location just a short tuk tuk from busy town . The owner was the kindest and friendliest lady . She was so helpful with everything. Loved having our breakfast on our veranda amongst the trees and wildlife. Felt magical. Highly recommended and great value

“Very pleasant stay”

The location is stunning, the rooms are beautiful with a superb view on the temple of Ella. The kindness and the efficiency of the lady who manages the resort is remarkable, you can see her effort in every little details to welcome her guest warmly. Breakfast is abundant, fresh and delicious, the best so far in Sri Lanka. Thank you for a great stay 🙏🏻

The best hospitality we have experienced. The surroundings were magical in the middle of the nature. Room was big and spacious. We really enjoyed everything from the breakfast and view to the treatment and value for money.

“Such a nice peaceful place in nature but close enough to town to walk!”

There were great views to the temple and it was only a short walk in to town. The host was very helpful and the breakfasts were good. There was even an air filter to ensure the room wasn’t too musty. I really enjoyed my stay here and could easily have stayed another week if it wasn’t booked. Would highly recommend!

We loved it! The location - amazing view, sounds of the forest, yet just a short walk from the centre. The owner is very helpful. The room is comfortable, very clean - and those huge windows <3 water on the shower is really hot ;) so far our best accommodation in Sri Lanka

Beautiful surroundings! We loved the location! It was a pleasure getting up every morning and having breakfast Amali was an amazing host, friendly and welcoming. She helped us with organising a few excursions, and breakfast was always delicious! Thank you again.
