“Nature hide away - beautiful and quiet”
We had a great time in the OwinHill Cottage, it is located in the forestry hill in the middle of nature with all kinds of animals - away from the loud and touristy Ella. The owner is a very lovely woman who is living just a few meters down the hill of the cottage together with her kids. She made us delicious breakfast and Rice and Curry - probably one of the best we had around Sri Lanka. She also helped us out with our questions, tuktuk to Ella and transfer.

“Absolutely recommended”
The owner is very friendly and helpful in organizing TukTuks, Taxis and day trips. A nice way to get in touch with singalese people. You can walk to ella but it‘s not recommendable when it‘s dark because if the traffic. Tuktuk is easy to get, costs around 600 rupees. Rooms are very basic and simple, don‘t expect any luxury. Very good breakfast. Nice view

“lovely view and value for money”

“Lucky” the Guest house owner is a gem and a truely delightful professional. Organised so many things for me. Managed to get me Ella to Kandy train tickets at very short notice. Welcomed me with coffee on arrival, cooked a wonderful last meal for dinner and I felt so cared for, much more than I was simply guest. I awoke each morning to stunning sunrises of the Ella hills. Picture perfect and Monkeys galore. I watched on as “Lucky” cared for all the other guest in the same lovely manner.

“An amazing short stay in Ella!”
This was our amazing, short stay in Ella. The room is located on the hill with an amazing view on the mountains. The room was clean, well maintained and run by a lovely family. There is a terrace to enjoy the view and relax. The owner was very helpful, she recommended a great restaurant, and offered transportation service and things worth seeing in Ella. We enjoyed the local breakfast! We recommend this cozy apartment to stay in Ella.

“Beatiful place, good for your soul!”
Extraordinary beautiful view from this fantastic cottage. Calm surroundings. Very friendly, nice and helpful hostess. She had good connections with very good tuktuk and taxi drivers. We ate two dinners here, tasty Sri Lankan food. Also breakfasts where rich and good, served at the fantastic mountain view terrace. Spacious room with very comfy beds. We really liked our two nights stay here!
