“Great place to stay”

Great little homestay! Family are so kind and friendly. Breakfast was great with lots of food! Also their dog is so cute! Such a nice and clean room with nice views!

I really enjoyed my stay! Nethanya is just far enough from the main road to get just a little noise from there drifting in and dramatically more wildlife and sounds of nature than you will hear once fully in the town. I was super well looked after and the room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was a *very* generous amount and absolutely delicious. Thank you!

Nice and clean comfortable room

Clean and comfortable accommodation, located just a short walk from the town center and close to Ella railway station, yet quiet and peaceful at the same time. Everything is within walking distance. Please note that breakfast and dinner are not provided, and there is no Wi-Fi available. Overall, a relaxed stay with very kind and friendly hosts.

Nice homestay, friendly staff. Good location , very close to town you can literally walk in 10 min, yet very very quiet . The room was nice and clean .

“Very nice place”

Very nice place. The woman who run this place are so kind and nice! We booked in the evening for the same day, they responded immediately. We could leave our luggage there after check out. A few minutes by foot to town. Great value for the price.

“Value for money, quiet location and clean room.”

Very clean room and toilet with comfortable double bed. Towel, soap and toilet paper provided. Quiet location away from the town but still close enough when you need to go there. Toilet has hot water which is great for those that need it. I prefer cold showers and the water was very cold early in the mornings :) As others have mentioned, the property can only be reached by going down on 20-25 steps which will be problematic for those with mobility issues. The host was very friendly. The walls are thin so you will hear sounds from the hosts's living space but for me it was acceptable since it is a homestay. Overall I was very happy with my 2 nights spent here and I would come back again.

“Great hospitality!”

Peaceful place away from the noise, yet only 10 minutes from the center and 5 from the train station. The family is very kind and respectful, and we slept really well, even with a blanket at night because it was pleasantly cool. Great hospitality with tea and cookies, always with a smile😊. We’re glad we chose this homestay instead of another type of accommodation, as Ella itself is very touristy. And the family were super kind!

“We absolutely loved our homestay!”

We absolutely loved our stay at this homestay. The family were so lovely and welcoming. You have your own porch with a table and chairs that you can relax at. Very noisy with animals at night but we enjoy being surrounded by nature. The host provided us with tea and a treat each day free of charge which was a wonderful touch. The property was incredibly clean. On the last day we asked for breakfast and it was such a fantastic and tasty Sri Lankan breakfast. Such a fantastic price as well. A 5 minute walk from the main street.

Really nice and sweet family, felt very welcome, they did everything to make my stay comfortable.

The staff were welcoming, I arrived in the evening after a long day of travel and the ladies brought me a hot cup of tea with some crackers which was a small gesture but was very much appreciated.

The location and the host were lovely. The home is located in a quiet garden, only a 7 minute walk to town/ the train station. The room has a separate entrance with its own secluded patio. The room was spacious with a large bathroom and hot water. I wish I could have stayed longer!!!! Wonderful value.

“Clean, cosy homestay a short walk from the main road.”

We had a really great stay at Nethanya Homestay. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The homestay is only a 5 minute walk to the main road and the train station but feels like you’re in the middle of the jungle. You can sit outside the room and watch birds, chipmunks, frogs, lizards and even a mongoose. The owner and her family are super friendly and welcoming as well.

The host is very kind, greets very kindly with a cup of tea. The room was very clean, breakfast was delicious, the portions were so big the two of us were unable to finish. The garden is beautiful and full of colorfull birds. Nethanya homestay is close to city center and railway station, but still felt very private and silent.

I think this is one of the best places to stay in Ella. A cozy location in an green area, with a your own terrace and just a 10 min walk from city center. The room was also very nice and comfortable.
