Excellent breakfast with a stunning view. We had a different one every day and everything was very fresh, tasty and good. The owner is a really kind and chill person and the room is wide clean and quiet. The view over the waterfall makes it exceptionnal.

The view from the rooms with balcony and also from the breakfast area can only be described by one word and that is AMAZING (see pictures). The owner and the staff are very friendly and helpful and gave us good hints for the planned hiking tours. The breakfast is also good, but it is more traditional sri lankan, which means various curries. My husband loved that.

This property had the most beautiful view. It was run by a super kind family. Our rooms had lovely balconies with hammocks and beanbags. We very much enjoyed sitting out there reading and chatting. Breakfast was varied and cooked freshly with so much food that we could never finish it. Such a lovely stay that was excellent value for money. Thank you for having us.

“Breathtaking views and helpful staff”

If you're going to Ella you have to stay here! This accommodation has the best view we have ever seen. You can see Little Adam's Peak and Ella Rock from the bedroom and communal areas. For us, the view was better than those on the famous train ride and from the top of Little Adam's Peak! We opened the curtains of our room and watched the sun rise from bed, a real highlight. It is a steep climb to the property which was difficult with bags (get a tuktuk, it's harder for cars to navigate the hills) but very manageable, even for me who does not have good fitness. The steep walk is absolutely worth it for the view. Ella is hilly so you will have a steep walk wherever you go anyway. Again, if this is off-putting you can get tuktuk for good price instead. It's quick to get to the centre of town. Our favourite bars and restaurants were the ones closest to the property reached by walking along the train track towards Ella station. The host and his family/team work very hard. We felt very welcome and he gave us great tips for the area. He arranged a lovely driver to Darshani Falls for a very good price and let us know best times to visit attractions.

Amazing view over beautiful landscape, quiet and very nice place. Walking distance to the village center, ca 5 min along the railway. Very friendly and nice host, and very helpful. Hei made delicious homemade breakfast Sri Lankan style. Nice and clean room with a balcony.

Minthu and his wife were great hosts! Breakfast was delicious and Minthu was gracious when answering my questions. I loved the location: close to town yet far enough to be away from the busyness of Ella. I especially loved sitting on the balcony and watching locals and tourists come and go!

Amazing views and unforgettable food I had a wonderful stay here in Ella. The view is absolutely stunning and truly one of the highlights of this place. The hosts were very kind and welcoming, making me feel at home right away. One of the best parts of my stay was the dinner – I had some of the most delicious curries there, easily one of the best meals during my trip. Enjoying it on the beautiful terrace overlooking the surroundings made the experience even more special. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone visiting Ella!

“Great stay, very welcoming host, wonderful views”

A fantastic place to stay with a spacious room and an amazing view from the private terrace. The terrace had a hammock and comfortable bean bags where you could relax for hours while looking at the mountains, a waterfall, and the lush greenery. The apartment is located away from the busy and touristy center of Ella, but you can easily reach the main street on foot. The property also has a large shared terrace where delicious breakfasts are served, included in the price, featuring local dishes. Minthu is very welcoming—he greeted us with coffee and we chatted like old friends. He also told us a lot about the area. We highly recommend this place!

“Perfect base to explore Ella, such a welcoming family!”

Our stay at Minthu homestay was amazing! We were welcomed with a cup of tea and biscuits and enjoy the most beautiful view! The location is perfect, less than 10 minutes walk from town so away from the noise but easy to walk in and out. It was really peaceful and the views incredible. The breakfast was a highlight, different both mornings but great Sri Lankan style absolutely delicious! The host also helped us to arrange a tuk tuk for a good price to see the waterfalls and tea plantations, also onward travel. It really made our trip run smoothly. Definitely recommend this place to explore Ella and the surrounding areas.

Good place to stay and relax, just 5 minutes away from the busy centre. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast was good. The view is amazing.
