The location was great , 7 minute walk into town but a lovely peaceful road with a great view.

Cute room with a nice terrace! The bed was really comfortable and the fan helped with the heat. The host is very attentive, so friendly and helped us with everything. He prepared great breakfast which we could enjoy with an amazing view! It is not far to walk into the city. Amzing hospitality, thank you sir!

AMAZING home stay away from busy Ella centre surrounded by nature. Fantastic views! Attentive, friendly host. The Best breakfast and delicious dinners! The best we have eaten in Sri Lanka. If you stay here please eat here at night. We loved it so much we ate here both nights! Loved eating breakfast watching monkeys and birds nearby. Excellent value for money! Definitely recommend a stay here 100%.

“Authentic Sri Lankan hospitality with stunning views and good food.”

On arrival I was a bit sceptical as it felt far from any amenities and the steps were quite uneven and difficult to negotiate to the property. We were close to cancelling but Jaya the owner fixed the steps and added several hand rails whilst we were out and ensured it was OK for me as I'm visually impaired. I was very impressed with the care and attention. The room was spotless and very comfortable, stunning views across the valley and to hillside and nestled amongst the mango trees.. The breakfast was substantial amd served on our own balcony. It kept us full all day . It was an easy 10 mins walk into Ella along the railway line . Don't be fooled if you arrive in a vehicle as the road is the long way round. We had a cooking class with Jaya's wife and the food was delicious. I can't fault the place, we even shared the same humour and felt complety at home there. I would definately recommend and stay again. Nice memories and true Sri lankan hospitality. He even checked in on us from time to time amd waited with a torch one evening to make sure the access was manageable. Also made sure we had a reliable driver for onward travel. Lovely relaxing 3 night stay.

I loved my stay at Mango Shadow Inn! Niroshan and his parents are extremely kind and helpful. I’m a solo female traveller and they made me feel very welcome. The views from my terrace were the highlight. The food is also very good, and they offer enormous portions and variety at breakfast. I did a private cooking class with Niroshan’s mum which was great. The room itself was spacious and very clean, with a big bathroom and great AC. It’s a very peaceful place that feels secluded but is only a 10-15 min walk into town.

Peaceful and serene location with amazing hospitality from the host, Niroshan, especially breakfast. Very accommodating and helped us organise onward travel.

Good location and appealing price. The owners father, who stays at the property, was very welcoming and helpful, but for us, overbearing and a little instrusive. Both the owner and the father were good communicators when we changed our plans.

It was a fantastic stay! The rooms are very clean and the view is stunning! Breakfast was delicious every day, and the property managers are super friendly and helpful with everything!

Great location with a nice view. You can see Little Adams peak white having breakfast. The host is amazing. We ran out of fuel with our tuktuk 1km from Ella and he came to the rescue with some fuel within minutes. Would recommend!

Really friendly hosts and the best breakfast I had in Sri Lanka! The shower had hot water and the view was great.

“Beautiful nature surrounded room with fantastic breakfast”

Nice and quiet in the nature. The breakfast was amazing! Very fresh and very large. Room is clean and comfy. Great for a couple as it’s very private, as it’s only one room. You can observe birds, monkeys and giant squirrels as you are enjoying the breakfast and view.

We had a wonderful stay here. The host was so welcoming and kind, he served us the most delicious traditional Sri Lankan breakfast each morning, and we ate it with a beautiful view of the surrounding hills and forest. He was even so kind that he fetched me some bags of the tea he uses so I can take it home to the UK! The place seems like it is a far walk from the center, but if you cut into the train tracks and walk along there it will only take 5 minutes! We walked up the stairs of Divine View home stay and walked past it to the train tracks, and from there it is a quick shortcut to the town.

The host is so kind! He was incredibly helpful and thoughtful throughout and he truly helped make our stay in Ella such a joy! Such a great price and beautiful location. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and a perfect start to each day - 100% recommend staying at this lovely homestay.

Host is Very Attentive! We felt very looked after He can source a scooter for a fair price so that it's easier to see ella. Town is 10/15 min walk along the tracks.

We had a decent stay in the middle of the jungle. The room was okay, but it had a few issues – there was some mold, and the towels had a bad smell, which was a bit unpleasant. The Sri Lankan breakfast was decent, with a lot of food to offer, though it could have been a bit more flavorful. The location is quite remote, and while it offers peace and quiet, the tuk-tuk service to get there is pretty expensive. The owner was friendly and helpful, but he was a bit pushy about taking a cooking class at the property instead of going to the centre, which felt a little uncomfortable. If we were to come back to Ella, we wouldn’t stay here, as we’d prefer a location closer to the centre for convenience. Overall, it’s a nice place if you're looking for a jungle experience, but there are a few things that need improvement.
