This was such a lovely stay. The hosts were delightful and looked after us so well. Rooms were clean, beds were comfy, and the breakfast was yummy. Highly recommended!

Breakfast was delicious with a lovely spread of different items. Our room was very comfortable and we loved the view from the balcony. We were always greeted with a big smile and were assisted with anything we needed. Cannot fault the service and the accommodation. We will be recommending Madushanka to anyone who visits Ella!

The host is a very kind man. Will give you information about everything and guide across the city. The property is walking distance from the town.

The location is great. Great view , very quite and really short way to the Main Street (shortcut via railway tracks). The rooms are cozy and clean. Breakfast is delicious and best black coffee of Sri Lanka. The staff is very helpful and has very good advices for activities also beside tourist tracks. Check it out

“A great place surrounded by nature”

The place is great with views over Ella Rock and the location is perfect with the shortcut via the railroad to the town. The breakfast was tasty and it was plenty with local food and fruit. Special thanks go to Sidath who was super helpful and friendly during all my stay.

Such a lovely place. It’s on a very steep hill, but there is a flat shortcut to town along the train tracks. Cozy rooms with modern bathroom and a fantastic view! Be prepared for jungle sounds during the night. Lovely big breakfast. We stayed for 3 nights and would highly recommend the place. Very kind and helpful staff.

“Made extra special by the staff”

The staff are great. Sidath (sorry if I've spelt this wrong) is super-helpful and trustworthy. He gave us lots of top tips for walking ( it's a beautiful area for hiking and the Pekoe trail goes right through Ella - download the trail app for a good on/offline map). He often checked if we needed anything for our room. He organised our onward taxi for a fair price. He also went to a whole lot of effort to get the tablet I accidentally left by the bed forwarded to me in Mirissa - I am so grateful! He speaks very good English too. The owner (and breakfast chef) was also very friendly, and made great Sri lankan breakfasts, served on the room's private balcony. You can watch monkeys, squirrels, and red woodpeckers in the trees whilst you eat breakfast! The accommodation is away from the noisy main road - and although it's up a little hill for a car/ tuktuk it's only a 2 minute , flat walk along the side of the railway line into town. Initially I was disappointed that the room was very dark. It's dark because it's got solid timber walls rather than concrete, but I grew to appreciate it, especially the wonderful scent of the wood. New shower, which works really well. Fair value for money for Ella, which is a bit more expensive than some other locations.

“2 night stay in Ella”

The accommodation is located up a steep hill, however there is a short cut along the rail track into Ella. We were greeted by the owner and Sidiith, who gave us a warm welcome, explaining the local area and gave us welcome coffee and cakes. Our room was on the first floor, which unfortunately didn’t have a great view, however the view from the breakfast area was amazing. The room was spacious but felt damp and therefore the bedclothes and pillows smelled musty. We did have rain during our stay so this may have attributed to this. There was a very good mosquito net around the bed though which best we had on our travels. There was an awful smell from the bathroom which leaked into the bedroom. There was however a fridge and a lockable cabinet for valuables.

The view and breakfast was great. The staff were super friendly and helpful.

This was a fantastic stay. Sidath was very welcoming, he was so helpful and brought us breakfast on the balcony every morning which was delicious and the coffee was so good! The view from our room was beautiful. The room was clean and the property was perfectly located. We would definitely stay here again.

“Quiet stay very close to main street”

Great location, quiet and in nature but really close to the main street. The host literally couldn't do enough for us, he was so helpful and told us about all the walks and shortcuts when we asked. So polite and kind, he even carried our heavy bags upstairs for us. We booked the deluxe room and it had an amazing view of Ella rock and the monkeys and other wildlife we could see in the trees. Breakfast with a view was lovely every morning too. Highly recommend this stay. The shower was also hot with great water pressure!

Idyllic! Incredible view of Ella’s Rock. Extremely comfortable room and bathroom with a powerful hot shower. Amazing breakfast, served in our room on the balcony. Monkeys everywhere! Very short walk along the tracks to town. The staff were very welcoming and always on hand with local advice and directions. A real highlight of our holiday.

Amazing hosts - very friendly and took us out for a tuk tuk tour at very reasonable cost. Great location, easy to walk to the Main Street via the railway. Decent breakfast too. Room size was good and comfy bed.
